I have searched and cant find an anser to my specific question. I have a 2016 truck and have acquired some 17 year wheels. Will the tpms sensors be recognized automatically from a different vehicle or will they have to be programmed to my truck? Thank you

Your truck should recognize them in a very short time / distance. I installed winter tires with OE take-off rims back 2 years ago, and the first time the truck needed about a tenth of a mile to register all four sensors (OE Mopar). Changing back and forth since then, it has never taken more than driving down my 250 ft driveway. If it does not work like that, then suspect a dead sensor.

I believe there was a sensor frequency change but I dont know what the cutoff years are. As someone already mentioned, the sensors should register automatically within a mile or two as long as the frequency is the same as the truck and there is nothing wrong with any of the sensors

Back around 2009, Ram used a TPMS with the 315 Mhz Sensor

Around 2011, Ram changed to the 433 Mhz Sensor
