Hey guys.

This is my first car with traction control.
I'm very aware of what the system can/should do... However my question is when the system is off...

I have had my ram off road a few times as well as "playing" in parking lots and it seems when the system is "off" I still feel it in the gas peddle and feels like its still working but much more muted ...
Is this in my head or this system can't be totally defeated?

I knew a guy who was able to wire up the traction control system on an Audi to where the 3 parts of the system were wired up to seperate on/off switches and could turn them completely off but choose which he want led off and which he wanted on... I wonder if this is possible with the Ram

Hmmm, I like that idea, permanently kill traction control, and abs :naughty:

Now to figure out how to make all the warning lights turn off after doing that lol

basically all you'd have to do, is wire a switch into the wire runs into the junction box to the fuse, flip the switch and bye bye TCS and ABS but yes the lights will be on the dash but when you need them, flip the switch back and away goes the lights.

Ahh....I thought it seemed like the traction control was still kicking in even after turning it off. That's lame. Good to know I'm not crazy though.

I read elswhere that you can pull the abs fuse to kill it, but that also kills the gauges?

Does not kill gauges. Just turns on abs/ESP/tcs lights and kills cruise. All gauges work fine. I had an abs computer fail and that was my symptoms.

i pulled both abs fuses on my 2012 1500 sport and a ton of lights went off on my dash, service trailer brake and parking sensor warnings went off and my speedometer quit. also my 4x4 wouldnt work at all. so basically the only thing i can do is spin out on 2wd. after i put my fuses bak in, everything went bak to normal except the check engine light. which im guessin if i just reset the truck itll turn off. i cant believe theres no way u can simply turn off the traction control without all the warnings on the dash and the speedometer not working and also the 4x4 not working.

the "fun" button is worthless cuz it only dubs the traction control. even when u hold down the button for a few secs. i just wanna be in control of my own truck and not the stupid computer saying no to all my wishes. :chair: lol ok done with rant. thx!!
