Yep I am the same way. I can't just waste money lol. I hate the rake on my 1500 but it isn't as bad on this one. It's a totally different truck though. I missed my old diesel so I just had to trade my hemi in.
I really am gonna miss having my diesel back but not having that diesel exhaust sound.

The tires that were on my express were good for road but terrible for anything else.
The on/off road tires that came with this truck did pretty good this morning. I had to pull a trailer away from the job site and it was pretty mushy.

Also, I live in a town that has moderate stop signs and red lights but not like the city. So far I'm averaging around 16.7-17 and I'm
Not babying it.

Yes, the factory rake is insane!! On thing that is pretty popular is to lower the rear by moving the spacers (3 - 1/2 inch steel spacers) from between the axle and leafs to on top of the leafs. This will lower the rear by about 1.5 inches and reuses all the factory hardware. There is a thread on another forum that has tons of pics. The trucks still have plenty of lift to clear larger tires with ease. this is going to be my winter project.

Good to know. I would rather do that than lift the front. I hear it isn't good for the shocks and I'm not changing out brand new shocks for other ones. Does anyone know what bulbs are in the cab lights? I would like to put a led bulb in there instead of the amber bulbs. I wouldn't change them if the turn signal LEDs in the mirror acted as running lights as well.

Yeah, shocks are just the beginning... raising the front really screws with the geometry due to the solid front axle. It is quite expensive to do it right.

The bulbs for the cab lights are standard T10 wedge style bulbs.

Thank your local EPA rep... Once someone unlocks the tuning on the '13s + it will be a whole different story... ask me how I know...

I was under my 2500 looking at removing those spacers, as well as the over-loads and getting some of those Firestone air bags that rest in the lower cup (not solidly mounted) so I can get more flex / smoother ride.

Pull something with one.... It's not a race truck. It's a work horse. And I still think it would get my 1500 hemi from a roll to 70 and its a lot heavier.

Also, a supervisor I work with has the 2012 with the 3.73 gears and ill take my MPG over his. Especially, since I can't tell a huge difference taking off. Like I said.... I'm not looking to win any races either.

I haven't gotten under there yet. I'm gonna check it out when I get back from Texas. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get some 4" oval Aries from the local shop. My fiancé keeps griping about getting in and out lol

I put some generic 4" steps on the truck.
They are... about 40% in the way, and 60% useful.

I will replace them someday with Amp power steps.
These just don't go low enough to be useful for 'most' people.

I had a deleted 2010 3500, 2007 5.9, and a 11 sec 12 valve cummins so yeah I know what they run like. And the new ones are not impressive sorry. I tried talking myself into trading on a 13 with the deals there running but I dont tow heavy enough to justify it. If I was buying a truck to wait for a tuner for it I wouldnt buy a new one I would be looking for a 5.9 again which I have on and off looked for I just miss the diesel. If your towing over 10k lbs ok. Other then that hemis are plenty.

See that's my thing. They just don't look low enough which is why I was looking at the dominator a and stuff like that with the individual step downs off the bar.

And I pull 7.7k job trailers a couple times a week. That hemi had A LOT and I mean TROUBLE pulling those efficiently.

This is the operative word. You let that Hemi stay around 3500-4000 RPM it'll pull that trailer all over the damned world, but you'll get 8 MPG.

Might as well have an old Chevy 7.4 (oh, those got 4 MPH and made 1/2 the HP, nevermind)

I love my Hemi, but it's not for towing big trailers.

I would like to put the map light on this truck and the fold flat floor from a crew cab. They couldn't locate the floor in parts and said the harness isn't there for the overhead console. Is this true?

I know my dads 2013 3500 slt has the fold flat floor.

I also have a plug under my rear seat with green and white wires and and it looks like another blank plug (female) on the rear seat bracket. Anyone know what these are?

We have a 2012 2500 4x4 hemi with the 6 speed auto and 3.73 gears. It does fine job towing our 8,000 lbs travel trailer. Plus it gets the same 8 mpg towing that my 2008 ctd got. Actually it gets better solo mpg than the 6.7 got for me (15 vs 13). The 5.9's were the only ones that got good mileage.

Plus gas is 60 cents per gallon cheaper than diesel.

Ps. My dads 2012 ctd dually only gets 11-12 mpg. The emmisions crap has really ruined diesel's advantages.

Well I've made the same trip with my 2013 1500 Hemi. And with my 2013 2500 ctd. Both towing approx 5000lbs. Holding. Cruise control between. 65/68. The hemi averaged 10.9 mpg. And the ctd averaged 14.7. Those are hand calculated not going by the truck.
