Trading in my '04 with a shattered dashboard

I'm wanting to trade in my '04 Ram 1500 for a '14 Ram 2500. My '04 is one of the trucks that had the shattered dashboard issue that Dodge never made right with its customers.

After mine cracked, I pretty much gave up on the rest of the truck so it's in fair condition, but I'm wondering if installing a dashboard insert would allow me to get more out of the truck. Anybody have any experience with trading in one of these trucks??

I would only fix the dash if you're going to sell it private party, that would almost certainly be worth the cost in added resale value.

I doubt you would get your money back by trading it in... They will most likely dump your 04 to a wholesaler.
