tranny problem

when my truck is cold and i start it, put it in drive i actually have to rev it while in drive to about 3k for it to move, it doesnt do this very often. wild its still cold if i stop at a stop sign it will stall out. is it my tranny going out or just need to change the fluid and filter?

A clogged filter can make it act like that so if it's overdue for a fluid and filter change I think that would be a good place to start.:welcome:

I once had a Dodge van that acted like that. I was in fear the tranny was dying but as a cheap last resort I had it flushed and was good as new.

need help

i have the 545RFE transmission and had to replace some parts and there's a plastic shim in the planatery gear where can i get it can't find a part mumber

Start with drain, filter(s) change and refill. Then see how it is. If it is full of metal in the pan it is much worse than just a little issue.
