So I’ve search the site and google but wasn’t able to find what I was looking for.

Seems my transmission cooler lines have been leaking/sweating this winter. Its made a hell of a mess under my truck.

Curious if anyone else had an issue with this? I talked to a guy locally that had the same issue and just replaced them with the OEM lines. Is this the best option or is there a slick aftermarket item that I could get instead? Curious what level of effort goes into fixing this?

From the YouTube video’s I’ve watched it seems I can buy a cheap tool to help get the fittings off. Is it a straight forward as it sounds? Will I need to drain the transmission fluid in order to complete the swap?

Appreciate any help,

Mine leaked
Easy fix. 200$ Canadian
And you only loose what’s in the lines

I had that issue with my '01 Dakota a number of years back. They had rusted where they went through a bracket. I had a local tranny shop patch the lines for $100 as the OEM lines were difficult to get.

ended up getting my neighborhood mechanic to swap these out. Just didn't have enough time to do them myself and wanted to stop the mess of fluid covering my engine bay.

watched a few youtube videos on this. Seemed straight forward.

I would worry more about the why. I would be worried something is blocked up or pressures too high especially if you haven't upgraded VB.
