ok heres your problem.....if your amp is turning on fine you do not have a ground issue. if you tested different known working rca cables and still had the same issue its not that either. chances are that while installing the amp someone shorted the channels on the amp. with the amp on and the radio going, take one sub and wire it up bridged. if you get sound you got lucky. as far as testing to see if you have power you need to set the multimeter to "V" then probe the negative and positive side of each channel respectively. radio has to be on as well as amp to get results. if you need more help let me know

Oh man that's not good... If its shorted does that mean the amps done?? And as far as wiring it up bridged.. Does that just mean have a wire cutting out 2 of the channels on the sub and and going + to + on the amp and - to -??

Have you checked the inline fuse from the battery to amp, my amp did this a while back and partially blew the fuse, yet you couldn't tell it, it was still receiving some power just not enough,
Use a multimeter and check at battery and at main power into amp

exact same thing happened on my 05 and i thought the amp was bad and bought another one. Then replaced the fuse and it worked again. Luckily i was able to sell one of the amps and not lose too much money

you run a single line off the amp....one channel + and the other channel -. if the channels are fried the amp is toast.

your input into the amp should be 12v. if you get anything on the outputs of the amp that channel should be good. let us know what it is....ive run into lots of wierd issues with amps.....one way to check if its the amp or not is hook up a known working amp....if it works the amp is your problem....if it doesnt, your wiring or subs is your problem

Check ground, check the amp ground, check sub power, check amp power.

Check to see if you have the subs on, check to see if it's connected to the radio,

Need I go on?

So the wiring is Stinger, the stuff you get from best buy... Should i replace this stuff? reviews say that its not to bad, and that its 4 gauge. but should i trust it??

Also this is how the dink did the ground

7xLDc.png

Should ground be 4 gauge as well? because i have more then enough 4 gauge here to make it so. Whats my best bet?

Make a 4 gauge ground wire...put a terminal on it so you can screw it to the body of your truck, very close to the amp..within a foot or two. Find a clear area on the body of the truck and ensure there are no wires or gas lines under the truck in that spot. Scrape away all paint in a 1inch area where you chose, and get bare metal showing. Use a self tapping screw, and screw the ground wire terminal to your exposed area and you now have a solid ground. A second option is to use a bolt near the amp. Undo the bolt, clean any paint away and use the bolt to secure the terminaled wire to the body.

Thanks! i just did exactly that... i undid a bolt on the seat, and sanded all the paint, now all i need is a terminal on it, its about a foot long, and will sit right behind my left foot on the drivers side. Should be the perfect spot id think!
