What would cause my truck to die under hard braking. It doesn't do it all the time just randomly every couple months or so.

It may be a shot in the dark but dodges are known for getting vapor lock. When you fill your tank there is a valve at the top of the neck that traps the vapors from the tank. When you fill your tank if it backs up into the neck or the cup or if you keep clicking the nozzle after its full then fuel will get trapped in this vapor chamber. This will cause an engine stall usually occurring within the first mile or few minutes of driving after a cold start. To resolve this all you need to do is avoid filling your truck up for a week or two and only fuel up to half a tank during this time. The fuel will eventually evaporate and problem will be solved. along with this check your TPS and make sure your TB is clean and free of any dirt or build up both in front of the butter fly and behind. They make a TB cleaner but I prefer to use brake cleaner because of is fast evaporation quality. Hope this helps and like I said just a shot in the dark but worth a shot since its a free fix lol
