As the title says, the truck completely shut off while I was driving yesterday. I was going about 30 mph. This is the second time that's it's happened. Also, I've had the truck for about 2 years, and never had an issue until I got the recalls done about a month ago.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7 with 32k miles on it, 8 speed transmission.

When the truck shuts off, I lose all power. Radio, gauges, power steering, everything.

Any ideas?

Take it to the dealer. Leave it. Tell them not to call you till it’s fixed. Call Ram Customer Service if necessary. That is a serious safety issue.

You know you don't have to have the recalls done don't you. It's wise to wait awhile after a recall is issued, and then research the recall to see what issues they might or might not cause. Not a chance in hell will I be letting FCA do the auto park recall on my truck,or my wifes Challenger, way to many owners are complaining about that specific recall, lol.

I do, but I never anticipated having so many issue after a recall. I've had recalls done on other cars and trucks I've owned and never had an issue

I dropping off the truck at the dealership tomorrow morning and not picking it up until it's fixed. I have a feeling this is going to turn into a long drawn out issue with the dealership.

No error codes and the problem cannot be replicated, I know that's the first thing they're going to say.

I was hoping someone had a similar issue or heard of this before and may be able to office some I sight which I could pass to the techs.

There's a bunch of owners complaining about the Auto Park recall on the facebook pages, and I think if you search on here, you'll also find a few owners ******** about that particular recall. If my truck or car are working good,i avoid the recalls usually, lol

I sure hope they get it fixed for you. I'd be scared to death driving down the freeway with your family and all of a sudden the truck turns off. They should put extra effort into fixing it because it's a safety issue. Once a recall flash is done I'm not sure they(the dealer) have the capabilities to "undo" it if that is the problem.

No they dont have the ability to undo the flash, I already asked the first time I was there.

I'll keep everyone posted, I'll also be contacting a lemon law attorney tomorrow in case the cant find the problem

Do you have an ignition on that truck or is it a keyless go? I bumped my key a couple times and shut the truck off accidentally on my old one. Still not sure how I managed it and was thinking I had an issue. Think I just had too many keys on the chain and the ring was in a weird position. Took the keychain off and never happened again.

Yes I do have an ignition but as I said earlier, this only started happening after the recall. I didnt hit the key with my knew or anything like that when the truck shut off

I know my grandfather has issues with an "older" model car, and it quits driving and he doesn't have steering or anything. I wouldn't drive it until they fix it big safety issue there. I can think of somethings that may cause it to happen, but I would like to know why it does that as well! Hope the issue gets solved for you!
