Hey guys I have a 2015 Ram 1500 5.7..... the driver side sheered the first and last cylinder manifold bolts on that bank...... got one out successfully..... still working on one. My biggest issue is the driveway is getting paved tomorrow and the truck is parked on the driveway. I cant turn the key to on and put the truck in neutral when its not running like i could with any other truck. Im trying to get it so i can roll it down the driveway so the guys can work in the morning and its out of the way with out actually firing the engine up..... i really want to avoid running the engine even if its for a split second with the manifold off. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get around this would be much appreciated lol

There's a panel just to the left of the steering column. Pop it off and there's a neutral release lever behind it. Make sure the e-brake is on when you pull it so it doesn't accidentally roll away.

Just below the Headlight switch, you will see a blank panel & the E-Brake release

Behind the blank panel you will see a red strap

I have watched a few videos on removing manifolds & extracting broken bolts

It does not look like fun

This is why I join forums for every vehicle I own. I take notes of failures, and how to remedy them, even when everything is fine at the time, so I don't end up stumped or paying for a tow truck when it isn't needed.

I’m still on the second bolt ..... starting to feel defeated and quite nervous about screwing this head up...... I wish a socket would fit over this easy out

If you have the right 12 point socket it might. Assuming the easy outs you have are square head.

The best way to remove broken bolts is to weld a nut onto the broken bolt, if any of the bolt is sticking out.
If the welder is good, they can sometime weld a nut onto the bolt, even if it is broken off flush

LOL, You just told us all exactly what we would need to know in 3 sentences!

Props to GTyankee for the video, don't get me wrong. I've seen some of MCM's vids and he takes a while to get to the point sometimes.

Spent an hour trying to get a nut started putting a starter in a sb Chevy. I used up all the curses I knew in 3 languages. Just couldn't get it to catch a thread. Arm got so weak, I dropped the damn thing onto my face! I invented a 4th language curse words like the father fixin' the furnace in "A Christmas Story". My wife said go eat the sandwich I made you. OK, I did, with a beer.

Came back out, slid back under the car and badda bing, badda boom, right the F in! 1st try.
Sometimes you just need a sammich 'n a beer. Good luck bro.
