Trying to understand how to add addition blinker lights

want to add a couple amber lights to go on ONLY when blinker is used...
How do you wire lights like this??? Just tap into the blinker wires on the trailer wiring?? That's not right is it?

Depends.
You can tap off the blinker wires but, you need to do some math. How much extra load are you adding to that wire? If just one LED then should be no problem. If you're adding 10 on each side then your stock wiring may be too small in diameter. You can run the new LED on it's own power wire using a relay that triggers off the blinker wire. There's always more than one way to skin a cat.

The trailer 4/7 pin outputs for the turn signals are also act as the brake lights and are fused at 20 amps. You can use a CURT 56584 t-tap the 7 pin harness. These are commonly used for tailgate light bars. The five pin includes reverse.

I was only trying to add a couple of these... to help show lane switching to blind spot cars... but don't want them to 'stay on'. just blink

IMHO, you shouldn't have a problem just adding one LED to each side. Here are some sources.

THNX, I was doubting that those bulbs I was adding were gonna be too big a load... seeing as both my turn lights were replaced with LED and I actually get an error message that my left REAR is out... LOL AlphaBOD will fix that as soon as I can buy the plug and APP...

I added 6 with no problem. 3 to each side
