I picked up my 2019 power wagon late last year. I've had issues with the tailgate alignment on the left side of the tailgate. My brother came over and asked me if I hit anything with the truck... no. Come to find out my bed is twisted. Left side sits about 2 inches hire than the right.. welp. That would explain the tailgate being misaligned? Anyone notice something similar?

Did you buy it used ?
Definitely take it in for warranty.

If you bought used, someone may have taken it across the Rubicon trail, not good on long framed vehicles.

Actually watched a guy in pickup truck articulate so much that it blew out his windshield.

If you bought new, it's just a manufacturer glitch......either way it's fixable.

hmmm this is interesting. Because on my 2020 Powerwagon, if i dont SLAM the tail gate shut, the left side lock doesnt latch, so there is a big gap between the bed, and tailgate

Mine was the same way until we noticed that the entire bed looks twisted which would tweak a corner.

Brand new. Pre-order. I redid the tailgate latch and the post. Got it close but no cigar.

+1 on power wagon tailgate issue. I adjusted mine to close easier, but now it doesn’t open unless I push on it (unless I keep spraying the post and latch with silicone lubricant)

If you close it. Is the right side flush and left side about a quarter inch offset

Yup. Like the tailgate is slightly sprung.

I've tried adjusting the latch assembly and the post. Couldn't get it right.

I decided to measure passenger side 60.25" drive side 59.25". Near the cab passenger side 58" 3/16 and driver side 57.5". 43f051ed4a610b1e8513deae223964a7.jpg

So with these measurements... is the frame twisted or the bed twisted....

Could be alignment, cross camber can induce lean on these trucks. Does the bed look lined up with the cab?

You may be right. I just measured points from every edge of the truck ans they are indeed 1" lean

That doesn't seem to be an easy fix. Is their a simple fix or we possibly talking frame replacement because if its a frame replacement. [emoji15][emoji1751]

Super easy to fix if that’s the case. Look at the alignment cams on your radius arms, if they aren’t point roughly the same it’s probably the issue. Still worth a warranty check if it’s under 1 year or 12k.

My 2019 Ram 3500 Duelly, which I bought new last February had a tail gate issue as well. Would not completely close. Dealer technician worked on it and it appears fine now. It even opens and lowers with 2 presses on the key fob.

Now, as to long framed truck frames being more prone to twist, that is a little worrisome for a plan on getting a pretty good sized self contained cab over slide in camper. My truck could pull a 31,000 pound 5th wheel but its just me and I don;t need all that space. Ram did strengthen the frame, though, on this 2019 with heavier, higher strength steel.
