uconnect 18.45 upgrade

Want to do latest software upgrade to my 2014 RAM2500 with 8.4 display so I can buy the navigation upgrade. Found 18.45 at uconnect site. Currently running 16.13.13. Instructions say I have to visit dealer. Is there anywhere I can download a version older then 18.45 and do this upgrade in steps? Thanks.....Paul

Hi Paul,

To update your 16.13.13 software level to the current 18.45 software you will need to bring your vehicle into a dealership. This is due to the fact you're running an older version of the software. Your dealership will be able to all the updates between 16.13 and 18.45. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Success!!! Upgraded to 17.11.07 obtained from link on forum. Then reloaded usb drive from Uconnect and installed 18.45.01. Thanks to everyone who helped.....Paul

I received a letter yesterday from Fiat Chrysler yesterday saying that there is an update and included a flash drive. Instructions were straight forward, so I attempted the update today, now my radio is locked up because the download failed. It just says reinstall flash drive to reset. There are 14 units to download and it continues to stop at the 11th one.

Any ideas? Otherwise I will call the dealer on Monday.

They mailed you a USB thumb drive? Anyways, I would get a flash drive myself and format it to FAT32, then download the files from the web. After that, use the md5 to check the integrity of the files. Then try to install it.

I hear you. Got the little drive for Uconnect. They said I could have a Ram dealer install it if I wanted to - So I did!! Did it just for the reason you cited. Update seemed to go well, I guess. Can't tell one bit of difference. So not sure what it accomplished. Did this on Jan 2.

Dealer said the radio is shot. Waiting to hear back from Chrysler as to what to do. Truck is still under warranty, but I don’t think I should have to pay the deductible. Since I need a new radio, is it worth $800 to upgrade to one with the navigation?

Yes, they do. I got the same letter.

The "thumb drive" is not a traditional looking one though - it looks more like an old SD card, but it does indeed fit in the USB slot.
