I have a 2013 1500 SLT 4.7 V8. My Uconnect stopped working yesterday, and I am out of ideas as how to fix it. Whenever I start up the truck it shows the RAM logo with the Sirius XM logo below it, and freezes there. I've driven the truck about a dozen times since this started and have let it sit overnight.

I disconnected the negative battery terminal for about 2 hours yesterday and also pulled the fuse for the bluetooth fuse (it was fine). I've tried a number of solutions for resetting the Uconnect, but none have worked (don't have the hot/cold temp buttons in my model, and tried the phone/voice control buttons for 30 seconds but no luck). I also tried downloading the software update to a USB drive but the screen remained frozen and didn't recognize a USB drive was installed.

I am not sure if there is a separate fuse for the Uconnect, but I haven't found one in the fuse box under the hood. Any other suggestions? My next step is to take it to the dealer but I'm pretty limited time-wise so it could be quite a while before I'm able to take it in. Thanks in advance!

If you did not monkey with anything like a failed update, then it sounds like a bad head unit.

Prior to this occurring I had not tried any update. After it froze up I tried to update it but nothing happened. No recognition of a USB drive or anything. So I doubt it's related to that.

Hope it's not a failed unit, but thanks!

Maybe I'm completely off base, but does anyone know where the fuse for the uconnect system is located? I'd like to try and pull/check it, but have no idea where to look for it. It's not located in the fusebox under the hood unless its labeled as something non-obvious.

Try NEG terminal off all night , and while it's off pull the radio ( 5 min job ) and check if it has a fuse on the back .
Have you ever removed your radio ?

I can try negative off all night.

I have never removed the radio in this vehicle, but I can't imagine it's too difficult. If you have a decent link showing how to do it I'd appreciate that.

I don't have a link but there are you tube videos .

Basically two screws under the rubber pad up top in sunglass holder , then with both hands using the same sun glass holder pull straight back , the rest is self explanatory .
The screws are # 20 torx and the 4ea screws holding in the radio are 7mm

If you have a 115 vdc plug in the lower right corner you may have another screw in that cubby there .

Looks like this

If you don't have the lower center console then just remove the top 2 screws , pull straight out with both hands and the entire center stack with air vent will pull out .

I'm not sure " Uconnect " has a fuse ?
I think this is just a subscription base service you pay for ...
What exactly do you not have when you say "Uconnect " ?

If you are NOT still under warranty, you would likely be out less $ $ to just purchase another RA2 5.0 Radio from the for sale classifieds here or @ www.Car-parts.com
Often you can get a 2015 radio (plug n play ) no issues at all for $75 - $150 shipped !

Thanks for all the feedback. I will try to remove the unit when I get home later and see what I can find. I have a warranty, but I'd rather not have to deal with the pain of taking it to the dealer, but that's my next step if nothing comes from the removal of it.

As far as I understood the radios in the RAMs (at least this generation) are all called "Uconnect", but there are various models of the Uconnect. Mine is a 5" touch screen Uconnect, but it doesn't offer any of the subscription services that some other fancier ones have (I think some offer GPS and various other apps for a monthly fee).

Your not wrong calling it Uconnect, it's just more popular here on the forum to call it the RA2 5.0 or 5.0 touchscreen radio .
Good luck to ya sir ! I'll continue to monitor and I look fwd to your end results , for I too have the Uconnect RA2 5.0 Touchscreen Bluetooth radio .
I upgraded from the basic RA1 Nontouchscreen to a 2015 RA2 5.0 and installed a back up cam , I'm loving it !

So I went ahead and was able to remove the radio and disconnected all cables and reconnected. Turned the car back on, and the same exact issue occurred. I'm all out of ideas, so my next step is taking it into the dealer. I'm guessing it needs to be replaced, but will follow up when I find out.
