Uconnect 5.0 black screen

I have the small uconnect on my 2016 RAM 2500. Its periodically had the screen go blank over the last 2 years but always fixes itself when i turn off/on the ignition. Today it went black and I've turned the ignition off/on 3 times but no joy. It seems this may not be uncommon.

Are there any tips to try and could this be a software update? I do not pay for the uconnect subscription service or Sirius, I just use it as a media player for my iPhone and regular radio and backup camera.
