Holy crap, I’m not crazy!

I have a 19’ classic 1500 with 8.4” non nav, UAS I think then?

My Audio was horrid and over Bluetooth the notifications are loud as hell. When turned down they don’t stay, the apple car play notification seemed to of stayed though.

I only used XM so I never tested other audio, but podcasts over my phone didn’t seem too bad quality wise. It was so bad I bought all new kicker speakers from crutchfield and had a hell of a time tweaking the EQ to get an ok sound quality out. I didn’t realize it was this common.

I have a appointment tomorrow for a vibration, maybe I’ll bring up this tsb and ask them to check. And tell them the audio is overly bass’y. The new speakers sort of helped so I almost should go back to stock :p

Just an FYI - from my experience, DO NOT give them more than one thing to look at per trip. One issue will get glazed over, usually the one that really shouldn't be (like your vibration ....)

Alright,
Just uploaded the 2018 USA Ram UAS/4c (Non-Nav) sw update for Application version 22.6 to my 8.4 Radio FW/Info thread

** use at your own risk ** ... I haven't tested it (worked for @Cstan), but verified inside the file that it is v22.6 (If you are worried about bricking the radio, take it to the dealer have them do the update)

... as I don't have a copy of the full TSB & Install directions yet (reference the UAQ 21.9 TSB for similar steps).
Edit: extract the zip file directly to a fat32 thumbdrive as-is. There should be a 'Vp4r_update' folder on the root of the drive

I will update here if I can get the UAQ file. IF YOU HAVE A UAQ 4c NAV ... THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!

I am so tempted to try this myself but the instructions I googled up call for an anti theft code.

Awesome! Thanks for uploading.

Will the trucks headunit verify if the update is compatible on its own, before updating?

If I confirm it works all you do is download the file and extract it to the thumb drive (16gb) then turn the ignition to run and plug into the usb port. UAS (non nav only though!!)

CStan--Does your stereo sound "normal"? Is the bass emphasis back to where it was before the crap update?

Also, it took 20 minutes for you to apply the software update from the USB. I wonder why the service advisor is telling me it takes 2 hours?

How large are the files on the USB stick?

[edit to add: Our posts crossed. I see that you say your stereo sounds better.]

Yeah the audio is just like it's supposed to be. As far as the other gremlins in the other update I can't confirm better results as of yet . I can tell you I've been sitting in the driveway for 45 min now just jamming out because I missed the good noise :)

Thanks for confirming it and taking the leap!
I will see if I can get the other UAQ file using the VIN I received this week unless someone else does first. IDK if the UAQ will get v21.9, 22.5, or 22.6 with that TSB update (I honestly think it's just 21.9 again but hope not)

M² Mods.

In hindsight, I think this might have happened simply because I didn't pull the memory stick out until right after it started the reboot.
