Unknown engine problem?

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 63,000 miles Unknown engine problem? The problem it's having is not starting. The only way to start the truck is if I press on the gas pedal and rev it up. As soon as I let go it will stall. Changed spark plugs. Would like to know the problem thanx.

I am having the same problem on my 99 ram 1500. I changed IAC , PCV . plugs and wires. fuel filter / regulator. Will start right after I shut it off but if it cold or sits a while it just wants to crank for about 10 seconds before starting. Fuel pressure at the rail is 50psi. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hook up a code reader to it, and see what it says. Typically you can go to most places like Auto Zone or O' Riley's and do this for free.

Should be TPS. I had this issue on my Yamaha R6 and it solved the problem.

Still not turning on and running?? I changed the throttle body and TPS sensor but it will still stall?? maybe the accelerator sensor??

Lets start from the top. Are you the org owner? Its an 04 with 63k miles, whats its maintance look like?

No 2nd owner !st didn't drive much.... Maintance not very well checked. I drive the truck to Utah once in a while but I have two jobs so thats where mostly the truck goes my jobs.

Stop throwing parts on it first off .. if you have or had a cel it will be stored .. get it scanned and post up the code .. then we can know for sure what we are looking at .

you can buy your own code scanner from autozone or the like for about $40. super handy tool to keep in the truck. i know i loved mine. you can check and clear all your own codes.
