Now a question for the few posts about the ZONE UCA's + BIlSTEIN's.

Zones website states the UCA's are not designed to work with the BIlSTEIN's. Can anyone suggest a legit reason why, or simply because Zone wants to sell the full spacer / UCA's kit all together ?

My guess is that the Zone spacer is only 2" and the UCA'S are designed at that height. Think that setting the BIlSTEIN's at 2.8 would ruin the bushings in the control arm ?

I emailed them and asked a similar question to yours. The install instructions for just the control arms are the same as the kit with the level spacer. So they don't want you stacking the kit and a Bilstein. Just the control arm will work with any level kit they told me.

below is the reply I got from them.

James

Thanks for your interest in Zone Offroad. Yes our UCA will work with any 2” to 2.5” leveling kit. I hope this info helps.

Dante, did you install the UCA's yourself, or get them done. If you had a shop do it, who did it and how much?

DANTE221,

anychance you can get a head on view of your CV Shafts ? im curious to see the angle comparison from stock to level, with the UCA's in. I read on ZONE's Website that the 13-14' CV's are longer then the 11-12' model years, resulting that the newer models years dont require a diff drop bracket.

I've got a 6" procomp lift on my 2013. To avoid these ball joint issues would I need HD Upper Control Arms? I've been looking at the Zone Offroad and Fabtech ones (UCA's), question is, which ones fit for 6" of lift? In doing this id like to swap out to Bilsteins also since my spacers are complete garbage, would Bilsteins fit a 6 inch lift? I don't want it completely level and I like a little rake.

Ive seen people run bilstiens with the the 6in lift, You shouldn't need uca's if you leave them at stock height.

Okay Thanks, ball joints look like they're sound fine now. I just hear everyone talking about their new upper arms and think they're making me just try to find a reason for buying them lol

Hello I'm new here.
I have 2014 ram and have rough country 2.5 leveling kit and also have this issue with ball joints.
I bought and had the Zone UCA installed yesterday and now my front of my truck has that look that it's not leveled. Maybe it's just me lol.
I also have nitto terra 275_65_20.
All I can say after install the truck rides better in the front end just feels real good.

Measure, all you need if to measure the fender to the tire.

I just got my Zone Offroad UCA's installed yesterday. I have the HBS 2.5 kit on the truck. It seems like the front end works perfect now, I am very pleased with these arms.

You guys are scaring me... I'm scheduled to get Bilsteins installed at 2.1" on Wednesday (on my 2013)... With stock everything else.

Do I REALLY need to drop $400+ to get new UCA's to avoid my ball joints popping out?

I just did it for piece of mind. My drivers side ball joint came up a little bit, passenger side was ok. I guess you could just keep an eye on it but I hear you on the being scared part, that's why i bought the arms.

Honestly what's going to happen with the joint slightly lifted out of the arm?
If I'm thinking correctly, it can't come out.

Seriously ??? ...this is a problem with Bilstein 5100's too? Thought this was just a spacer problem ?
Can anyone confirm problems they've had (UCA or other) running just the Bilsteins 5100's on a '14+ ?

From what I've read, it can only be a Bilstein problem if your at 2.8... But, I don't know for sure. I plan on getting Bilstein's set at 2.1. It seems there have been a few issues when they are maxed out, but at 2.1 or lower, everything has been ok. (From my readings)

Wrong, it's not a problem with Bilsteins. You just dug up an old thread from last year before we did the research. It's a problem with the typical 2.5" spacer lifts.

Also, setting at 2.1 vs 2.8 has nothing to do with the UCA issue.
