So is the alleged "C" connection supposed to be faster? I honestly HAVE no clue nor does my vehicle manual differentiate why
By technical specifics a USB C port is capable of faster data transmission and higher charging currents than a USB A port.
In the grand scheme of things using the factory USB ports for connecting to the radio your not going to tell the difference between either for data or charging capabilities.
If you really want fast charging in your vehicle, use wireless to connect to the radio and then buy a 12V power point plug-in USB charger that is either QC3 or PD.
If your vehicle doesn't support wireless AndroidAuto/CarPlay there are aftermarket adapters that can make that happen.
