Used/Certified 2022 Limited Mega Cab

I looked at a 2022 Limited Night mega cab, loaded...ram boxes, rear air ride, fuel rims, sun roof, etc. It has 55k miles on it. Bought from that dealer and serviced from that dealer according to the car fax. They were going to put in a new belt and tensioner the guy told me today. Everything else seemed to work on it. It has the HO. Aren't you supposed to service that aisin transmission every 30k miles? I didn't see that on the car fax. It looks like it had new brake pads and rotors (front and rear) at 40k. New front pads at 55k. Dealer is asking 80k which is below KBB. I've never bought a used Ram Cummins before, always new. This type of Ram is tough to find in my parts.

Check out the TSB for the 2022 Aisin repair. Many had a problem.

Yes, but its in good condition. To be fair it was purchased Nov 2021, so an early 2022. Already a year and a half. Still a bit high though.

Looking into the complaints, it seems like it mostly happened to fairly low mileage ones.

Ok. Just saw this. 2 things. Lot of mileage (not really a concern to me), but that had me wondering about the trans issue. You actually answered it in your post above about the purchase date. It was built in 2021, so like you said, an early 2022. That is good as the trans problems were trans built in the year 2022. So yours was built before. Almost the entire year of production (2022) has had a snap ring issue. Some with very low mileage.
So if the truck is what you want go for it. If it makes you feel better, you could always purchase an Mopar extended warranty. If it has been certified by a Ram dealer already, it would be available to purchase.
I had a Ram 2500 Limited with the Cummins and put 36,000 miles on it in the first 9 months!

Oops, forgot, Cummins Forum has a lot about this, but you are not in the failure timeline on the trans build.

Yes trans should be serviced every 30K, being it was early 21 the trans should be okay. Was truck traded in for a new one, repossessed or was it sold back to the dealer? Did they say what the truck had been used for being it has a few extra miles on it?

I know it was bought and serviced there according to Carfax. It was used for business, like I use mine for. They told me her got a 23 dually limited. That's all I got.

If it was done at a dealer or descent repair shop it would show up on car fax, I would question if it was serviced at 30K and would not assume that it was serviced without Proof, no proof then it was not serviced as listed in owners manual..... IMO if you buy I would make the trans being service as part of the deal, all they can say is no but may say yes and save you a few $$$...

Ramguy, the dealership ( Ram ) would have any records of service done. Just ask.
If nothing shows up, then I would assume it was not done.
The original owner “may” have had it done somewhere else or may have done it themselves

Don’t Certified Pre Owned (CPO) Rams have a 10 year/100K powertrain warranty? My 2018 1500 did. May give you peace of mind about the transmission.

I don't think any of the warranties cover the emissions system though right? Def pump, etc.

Emmision systems usually have their own warranty period. Not sure about diesels, but gas used to be something like 75,000 warranty.
I got a free catalytic converter on my '03 gasser at like 74,000. I just got in the time frame.
