Using Airbags to fit in the garage?

My new-to-me PW wont fit in my garage by about 1-2" (due to the running lights / sharkfin antenna)

I can't part outside due to HOA restrictions, and I cant make the garage bigger.

What would you do (besides sell the truck)

Have an autobody shop install low-pro running lights / remove the antenna? (Any recommendations on low-pro running lights / antenna?)

Or find a suspension shop to install airbags? (if so do you have any recommendations on airbags?)

Any other suggestions? (not trying to air-down every day etc / looking for something more sustainable)

What size tires are on the truck? Could you step down a size and get it to fit?

You said you can’t make the garage bigger...but are you sure? Making the door taller might not be as big of a chore as you think it is.

As others have said it may be cheaper to raise your garage door than you think. You could also check into cutting out the concrete in the floor. If it’s just the lights hitting, you’ll just need a dip to coincide with when the lights reach the door. Also, you could study the language of your HOA closely to see if there are any loopholes. Could you attach an awning to your garage and park under it and that still be considered “in the garage” since it’s attached to your house?

Good reason to never to buy a home with an HOA too much head banging on anything you want to change on your house. So my 2500 has tires on it that are one size up from the recommended tire size on the door sticker meaning they are over an inch taller that the recommended tire size. Maybe yours are similar and going back to the stock size might just give enough clearance for you too fit.

It could look like a regular garage, but part of the area above the door is still more door

I would recommend something that doesn't require you to do something everytime you go into the garage.....guarantee if you have to lower the suspension every time you pull into the garage you will forget one time and hit it!

Have a contractor at least look at the door opening and they might be able to do some tweaking to get an inch or two by simply adjusting trim and brackets. Another option is to replace the PW specific springs with normal Ram 2500 springs to lower the entire truck down around 1.5"-2".

I have never heard of a HOA prohibiting privately owned vehicle (POV) parked in driveway or along the curb. I unfortunately live with a HOA, but as asinine as it is, they don't restrict POV parking.

Only other alternative is to heighten the garage, if it's possible, likely cost thousands, or park it on side street outside the HOA enclave, or rent space at a self storage or RV/boat storage and park there or air down enough for clearance (PITA to air up every time you take it out). All that sort of defeats the whole purpose of having a truck.

PowerWag. I can relate to the Hoa restrictions on parking. Dealt with one that specifically restricted Truck parking in the driveway or on the street overnight. Had to be parked in the garage. Glad I no longer have to deal with that. Good luck with figuring out what to do.

Does the HOA require the garage door to close? If not, just back the bed into the garage and have the cab outside. I’ve fought with two HOA before. The last one I threatened to place burglar bars on my windows and front door as it wasn’t restricted. Told them good luck selling another house after I did that! I also pointed out that I had to cut the grass but wasn’t required to have grass. A gallon of roundup in the yard would go well with the bars on the windows.
