Vacuum hose?

2016 RAM Sport. Recently had dealer replace valve cover gaskets and exhaust manifolds under warranty... Today I noticed this hose is not connected to anything. Is it a vent for something? Hose runs towards back of engine.

Transmission breather hose. I just extended my transfer case hose up to the same spot so I’m 100% sure

Yup. The air filter stuck in the end kinda gives it away.

When the transmission warms up, air expands and is pushed out. When it cools, air in the transmission contracts and fresh air is drawn in through the filter.

Good call on double-checking their work though.

Thanks! Where is the plastic clip on left suppose to clip into. Mine is just hanging.

Thanks! This just solved a mystery for me also, I searched everywhere to figure out what the heck that hose was for!
