okay we all know the alpine sub blows unless the radios on max. i just want more bass with all the crazy loud highs. anyways i been reading and reading and more confused than when i started. im no audio guru and the last time i missed with subs was way back in my high school days when i blew the rear hatch off my 84 camero with to much bass.

i been looking at theSRAMCQ09 and the lowest price hificonnection has quoted me was $540 out the door and know they have taken alot less by the forums ive seen in past month.

but for my $500 i just feel there has to be alot more bang for the buck left on the table. if the kicker kit has a plug and play harness thats so easy isnt there another suck kit somewhere that i can use to install any amp/speaker/box combo i deem acceptable?

i know there is a ton of answers and ways , just looking for easier . if the sramcq09 is really the answer then ill go that route. but i feel for that much cash i should be getting 2 subs etc. Thanks all

Considering the fact that you were able to blow the hatch off an 84 camaro, it sounds like you are capable enough to wire up and amplifier and wire up subwoofers...OR the hatch of an 84 camaro is that incapable of anything...either one would not surprise me lol
SO,
of you can wire up an amp...then YES, there is more bang for the buck when it comes to what you get for $500!
However, you said you wanted something "easier" so that lends me to believe you are looking for plug n play?
Like you said in your post, you have many options....if you can DIY this...the options are endless and we can go from there...
If you want plug and play, you have less options...but I would not go the SRAMCQ09 route....nothing about that product excites me...in fact...it doesn't make sense what so ever....just reading the detailed description caused my hand to scratch my head...

Going from blowing a hatch off of a camaro to 200w substage I would venture to guess you will be left with wanting more. The kicker stuff is great for plug and play but yes you can get more power and sound for 500 bucks.

so gave in and just got a SRAMCQ09. hifisoundconnection took the offer of $418 shipped free. so not that i believe it retails for $700 i just went with the easiest solution. way to many amps/boxes/speakers to go through and this sub should give me enough for what i want . i dont wanna shake the tow mirrors off and scare the neighbors etc. just want more base without turning it all the way up etc . thanks for answers

Why is it so hard to understand, audio shops I have visited, totally understand it. It may not excite you, but it does to more than it doesnt.

You'll love it, you should have it installed in less than 30-45 minutes. I spent all day Friday demoing our '14 Silverado to customers at a dealer in Kansas, and everyone was totally blown away with the sub change.

@ GrayGoose - you are lucky, that must be a fun job! Kicker makes some 'kick'-ass products! :)

I didn't want to add too much bass and I don't have much space in my little RCSB, so I got this and I am very happy with it. For it's size, it sounds good and it fits ANYWHERE. Super quality, too. Kicker 11HS8:

I was actually pretty amazed about the sound that this little guy produced when I put one into a buddies 2013 Forester.

It's tiny, huh?! But the bass is clean and tight. You are not gonna rattle your neighbors china cabinet with it, but it is enough for me. :)

Greygoose, do you know if the SRAMCQ09 requires the removal of the fold out floor on the crew cabs? I can't find that info on the kicker site. I am looking for a box that will let me keep that floor since it is perfect height for my son to put his feet flat.

Thanks.

You will need to remove it on drivers side only.

A good set of 6x9's amplified give a surprising amount of bass. I'd start there and add the sub later, unless you really want to keep the factory speakers. I have some focal 6x9s that sound great amped.

With all the mids included with the Alpine system, I'd be willing to let the rear door 6x9's go and replace them with amp'd DD 6" subs, and keep all under seat storage.
