I have another question regarding my 2001 dodge ram. It has a 5.9 engine and I am hearing a squeaking noise in the front of the engine. I replaced the belt and 2 pulleys but no change. The water pump pulley seems loose, I can move it back and forth. It isn't leaking but is the bearings going out on the water pump pulley? Thanks for any help.

I've had a water pump on a 318 before not leak until it decided to dump coolant everywhere. Upon removal there was a lot of play in the pulley so it had been bad for a while before it finally let go. You can have loose bearings and no leakage if your seals are holding up still, but when they go, you'll know it pretty quick.

cd36 is right. You can have a water pump fail without leaking. I'd swap the water pump asap and flush the system in the process. Last thing you want is to replace the pump and have residual gunk in the coolant bugger up the water pump bearings all over again.
