watts (what) is your voltage reading

new truck 1 week old ,red battery icon shows after start up and and stays on until i shut down and restart voltage reads 12-14 when engine shut off reads 11 i am pretty sure its a bad battery taking it to dealer on monday but am curious as to what reading others are getting.

Battery light on the dash means there's an issue with the charging system and the battery isn't receiving a charge. Depending on the charge remaining in the battery you might make it to the dealer if it's only a few miles and you drive without any loads on... Once the battery is drained you'll be dead in the water.

keep in mind alternators are designed to keep a charge on a battery.. Using a altanator to charge a battery that won't hold a charge or is defective can be very hard on the alternator

thanks for replies dealer said a poor connection on alternator stud
tuightened up and on my way in 30 minutes
