I'm wondering if the bed and cab are farther apart on some trucks than others. On mine the weatherstrip is jammed up against the cab. So with that said, is there much adjustment in the bed to move it say 1/4" to the rear to stop this rubbing?

A buddy of mine has a 07 ram and sure enough, that seal is there and it is rubbing the **** out of his cab.

Agreed. I still need to look at mine but if it was rubbing I'll be cleaning the area and hitting it with some red rustoleum paint to keep it from rusting.

Anyone have an update on modding this so it won't rub?

just fixed this now, it started on my 2016 500 mile truck. I cut the strip right before it touched the cab. Then bought 5/8 foam door seal and ran it on the cab to make the same seal in case the water getting on the gas tank was gonna be a issue

I just removed mine.
Sure enough - pretty rubbed underneath.
I thought of just leaving it off.
Any concerns??

The fuel pump is right under that area (on a crew cab) so there's concern over water constantly dripping on the fuel pump if that is removed.

I like where you're going with this and had I caught it when my truck was new I would had done something very similar. The only thing to keep an eye out on would be that foam you stuck on there. It can hold water and if you live in the rust belt, it will hold salty water in the winter time. This is why you see so many 3rd generation Rams with the rear fenders rusting through....oem foam holding water/salt there.

This is an excellent point, didn't even think about that...

Just went out and checked mine. Guess I've got another project to add to the list.
