Went to pick up the truck I ordered and found a nice surprise...

Hi 2015er,

They may have a had a shortage of regular hoods and used the sport hood to keep the truck on schedule. Just an idea.

Nice truck, enjoy,

Yes, everything else (air suspension, Ram boxes, sunroof, spray-in liner, convenience package, navigation, Colorado brown interior with bucket seats, tow mirrors) was perfect!

Also, I love the dual exhaust - although a pentastar V6 - I had the dealer instal the Hemi exhaust system complete with the rear bumper - it sounds amazing - not like a V6 that is for sure - I am actually going back next week to have it toned down a bit...
You're going back to have the exhaust toned down? Was it an aftermarket exhaust or stock? I'd Imagine stock would sound no different considering how huge the stock hemi muffler is!

The only way you can tone it down is by replacing the muffler. If it's a stock muffler your SOL because I don't think they make them any quieter than that lol!

so the ram box is still an option for 2015? i have mine but its a 1500 and i bought it as a one owner truck. i would really like to get a 2500 within the next two years and i want the ram box again. i have yet to use the inside of my bed, i always use the ram box so much more convenient.

Yes, toning it down a little. The day I picked it up the dealer offered to tone it down at no charge if I so chose. He said drive it for a few days and see how you like it. I am in my mid 50's and I have no interest in the rumble - to this degree - a little throaty rumble is okay but this is too much. One of those things where it's better to be a position to tone it down rather than trying to provide a little more.

Very pleased with the truck though - this pentastar motor is absolutely amazing - this is fairly heavy truck as I have the Ram boxes, skid plates, 4x4, air suspension, quad cab and power sunroof and I want to tell you - this motor is powerful - no problem moving this truck right along - I realize not a Hemi but its pretty quick.

Is the stock exhaust on it? I'm curious on how they plan to tone it down, if it's stock the only way would be to add another muffler. However that would probably hurt performance

The exhaust from the factory pentastar setup was changed out with a Flowmaster system. Flowmaster provides a range of mufflers - 40 series (loudest - most rumble); to 50 series (mid-range); to 70 series (factory-like sound). To quiet the exhaust I went from a 40 series muffler (very loud to the point of obnoxious I think) to the 70 series and now this little pentastar sounds just like a Hemi - I kid you not as I have drove both and heard both.

Based on my experience the difference in exhaust note between the Hemi and the pentastar actually has very little to do with the motor and everything to do with the component parts of the exhaust system itself. If properly configured the pentastar can sound exactly like the Hemi - just as my system now does.

One other thing - I think I have noticed a slight IMPROVEMENT in gas mileage since switching to the 70 series muffler.
