Derekp thanks man! I used GUNK engine cleaner foam and a long handle extra soft bristle brush, along with a toothbrush. Then GUNK engine protectant. Took like 4 hours kuz it was pretty dirty and I wanted it as clean as possible. I'll never let it go that long again that's for sure

I've heard simple green is not good to use because it's really harsh on gaskets, same as super clean, though I have zero actual knowledge of this... just what I've heard.

Yeah, I would too. I've been usin Simple Green straight outta the spray bottle for years to clean my engine and haven't had any issues. Of course, I only give the motor and motor bay a bath like once, maybe twice a year...[emoji41]

The best degreaser I've ever used (and I've tried all of them I think) is the LA Awesome stuff you can get at Walmart or Dollar General. My neighbor swore by it and I was using stuff that costs 6 times more, so I kind of blew him off for a long time, but told my son to go get some degreaser to do his engine at the Dollar General, since it's the only place close.

I had to eat crow and tell my neighbor that he was absolutely right.
