Plasti-Dip??
Yep. The speckles there are from the water I drove through later that night. Stuff works pretty good. Certainly good enough for my needs which is just not seeing chrome. I'll do the front when I get my winch mount for the stock bumper.Plasti-Dip??
You shouldn't be. That being said, it's been a minute since I had 5100s in my hands. With the 1211s I got ~1/4" lift and added a 3/4" spacer, so I'm at right around an inch over stock right now.
My understanding was that the 1.5" lift was sitting at ride height, so the shocks would be maxed out down travel just sitting flat, maybe even holding the spring up if they are short, am I off on that?

I do know the TTC coils tend to run shorter than stock. I'm not sure on the specs of these new ones, but that creates a conundrum. You technically need longer shocks for the lift, but if they are too much longer, you could unseat a coil. I tend to believe that would be a rare occurrence, but still, that's potentially catastrophic under the right circumstances.
Maybe Jack up the truck by the hitch and see how much actual droop the rear suspension has left. The stroke of the shock vs the leverage of the suspension geometry may not be 1:1 so I don't wanna assume that 1" of shock shaft travel won't allow say 3-4" at the tires without losing the coils.
I have fox 2.0s from BDS which are listed as 3" lift shocks. Extended are 28" and with my bilstein rear coils and 1" spacers my coils just come slightly loose. Ram1500rsm has a great excel spread sheet with lengths listed out. I'll reference that and we can bounce more thoughts around.

They really are. Just a bit longer without having to mess with extending the bump stops. They also ride much better than the 5100s by a long shot. Not necessarily cheap, but they are a nice upgrade if it's in the budget.Looks like the Fox ones you have are 98224758, compared to the Bilsteins the Foxes are 1.27" longer extended and 0.15" shorter collapsed. Looks like a pretty good option for the 1.5" lift.
(shock - extended - collapsed)
Stock - 25.5 - 16.5
Bilstein 5100 - 26.73 - 16.75
Fox 98224758 - 28 - 16.6

Took care of some weird lighting DTCs by using the AlphaOBD (first time using to boot) to change the CHMSL setting to LED. What was weird is that there were low beam and sidemarker DTCs too. I only have LEDs in the CHMSL and cargo lights.
Now I going to have to see is the activating the alarm thing is real.
See post aboveAny worry of dropping coils at droop with the 1.5" lift like Icons or these new TTC?
Revitmoto33 did the test, The Icons springs with 1" spacer will start unseating at 28.5", he's running 30" extended shocks with straps at 28 so when they stretch they'll go for 28.5"If you can get the specs of the TTC coils length we could know for sure. Without those in hand we can only speculate. @ram1500rsm I need your input since you have the icon coils.
My bilstein coils and the icon coils are the same free length. So goin off the table ram1500 made the values should be similar. With the 5100s I had no issue. When I added the fox shocks I also added the daystar 1" spacer and I do notice that the passenger side coil ever so slightly comes "unseated" I still need a compressor to remove it unless I unbolt the lower shocks and track bar, so it's not gonna fall out, but without a spacer adding the extra length I would 100% lose a spring.
I have a feeling the TTC coils might be shorter overall compared to other coils since they usually run shorter with a higher spring rate. If that's the case the 5100s or fox 2.0s for the 1" over stock height would really be your only option.
I don't know how to attach the pdf of the table I'm referencing.....bleh

Answer about icons and a spacer in above post. Bruiser ram did a payload experiment as well with the icons and they seem to handle weight pretty well. But they are a bit more than the TTC coils cost.Any worry of dropping coils at droop with the 1.5" lift like Icons or these new TTC?
Thankyou. Hard to keep track of who's running what combo anymore.Revitmoto33 did the test, The Icons springs with 1" spacer will start unseating at 28.5", he's running 30" extended shocks with straps at 28 so when they stretch they'll go for 28.5"

I could prob try to go 29" since i have the poor man spring retainers and 1" spacers as well, they come very handy , but i guess the max with Icons and 1" spacer will be 28.5" extended

Regarding Tuff Coil Springs most if not all are shorter than stock just thicker diameter so you get to keep stock height unloaded or more height depending on model.
The 1211's are 17 1/4", the 1223V which was the longer one i believe cause it's progressive, was 17 3/4". Stock springs are 18 1/2"
From the list i've put together i'm listing free length when known, and there is a little note on the side of the sheet that shows the source
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/4th-gen-1500-coilovers-struts-shocks-control-arms-trackbars.158811/
For example
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/tuftruck-1211s.118862/#post-1709203
So we know the 1223's are 17 3/4" and TT is claiming their new 1223VT is 3/4" taller than 1223 thus the VT must be 18 1/2 which is the same length as stock.
I'll add this 1223V's to my list.
