Fresh oil change yesterday and pulled off the tow hooks that were starting to have the finish flaked off and showing rust. Wire brushed everything as best I could and hit them with rust reformer and a couple coats of fresh paint. Hindsight, should have had them blasted by a local company and powder coated. Will likely take them off again before winter and have that done. Went with orange.. wanted something different to break up the black and chrome on the front.

Not exactly this week's project, but my summer project this year was taking the lift off my Ram.

35s, Bilsteins set at 2.8", Zone UCA, Icon rear springs, rear Fox shocks, and extended sway bar links f/r all came off.

285/75r17 Falken Wildpeak at4ws, Eibach Pro Struts set at 0.7", Moog UCA, stock rear springs, Bilstein 5100 rear, and Moog f/r sway bar links went back on. Had to recenter the rear track bar, but it was all fairly easy to get done.

Tows better and the ride is super nice now. I'm happy with the look, it stayed pretty similar to before with the 35s.

Going to be listing the rear "lift package" here soon.
Removed the lift?

Interesting, I loved my 2016 with Bils 5100's all around and at 2.8 in the front with zone uppers and 2" spacers in the back.

Your truck looks great still!

I liked the look with it lifted/leveled, but didn't like the ride with the Bilsteins maxed out, and towing/mileage sucked. Also it wouldn't fit in the parking garage at work on the days I had to take it. So all in all it was a positive change, and the ride is great now.

Only thing I still need to do is take the airlift bags out of the Icon springs and install them in to the stockers.

That 215K mile rear suspensi9n was wore out. Noticed on the trip to move my daughter to Seattle, lowers were loose in their bushings and the uppers were close. 215K miles on it. The off-roading I've done since I got the truck 15k miles ago didn't do the originals much good either.

Caught a Core Trail, 7 Piece rear suspension set on sale for the July 4th and 24th holiday's that they had going on. Arrived / Unboxed today.

Will be installed by this weekend.

I finally got the truck home after a week at the shop. Apparently the axle and pinion bearings went bad in the rear axle. Mechanic says they were pitted at 103K miles.

No more noise now.

The truck’s arrival allowed me to Fakra the Android radio. I bought an adapter cable that goes from Fakra male to SMA male connectors. This allowed the use of the OEM roof top GPS antenna to be used with the radio. Much better GPS data with the rooftop unit vs the supplied GPS antenna that came with the radio.

The Fakra connector had two guide ribs on it that prevented the insertion into the truck’s existing connector. They need to be cut down flush with the body of the connector. Then it inserts easily and locks into place.

The cable:

Finally got my headlights swapped, i hated how the chrome ones looked )) And got some Chinese fender flares installed as well. Slowly getting there, with how i want my truck to look. Some parts are very expensive or impossible to get, here in Europe.

Installed my Core 4x4 7 Piece trail set. Jonny jonts to the rear end.

Dialed in the pinion angle from 2.1° from the old wore out control arms to 0.2°.

Every bushing was shot on all 4 control arms and also on the track bar. Way firmer now.

Will be out on the trail tomorrow fishing and see how well it improves the off road experience.

Hit 90k, figured it was time to start all the 100k maintenance chores. Started today with swapping the old plugs with NGK Iridiums. Thanks RockAuto, they got me the goods for half what I would pay locally.
Jacked it up, pulled front wheels and liners off, worked from the top, and through the sides. But terribly challenging, but my daughter might've learned some vocabulary that I wish she hadn't.
Job went smooth until I dropped one of the new plugs and bent the electrode sideways. Shop nearby had them in stock, so I paid $16 bucks for my mistake.
Borescoped the cylinders while I was in there, not too bad, but a lot of crud on the top of the pistons. Might be time to seafoam, or maybe someone has a better suggestion.
5 hours later, sunburned neck, sore back, and happy it all went smooth.
I'm a couple weeks, this old man might tackle the transmission service.
Now it's time for a couple cold snacks, and a hot shower

Towed a 15k man lift to start.

20250811_093744.jpg

Then yesterday a full service including engine oil/filter, brake fluid flush, rear axle oil, transfluid/filter change, and checked over everything else.
This is all in preparation for a trip to the motherland of Indiana for an RV Rally towing the 5er.

This *****!ng TIPM just **** the bed again. Lost all fuses to headlights . :emotions122: If I didn't tie into the trailer plug wirering when I did my flat deck I wouldn't have tails either.

Im not changing it again. Will slowly start bypassing it ! Once my IH build is done I'll fully delete it. :dogpile: I did a half ass job for now, just so it can trigger the headlights. Used those stupid fuse bypass. :anitoof:

On the plus side, I found my rattle noise. One of the horns nut fell off.

Just another day living in the rust belt. Replaced rear dust shields and park brake.
As the truck gets older, I feel like it's important to have a working emergency brake.

I should have done this when I replaced the rear wheel bearings and axle seals two years ago, hindsight is 20/20. \\

For anyone who drives a 2013/2014: you can't buy just the dust shield, they want you to buy the whole pre-assembled kit for $400 each. I went with the 2015 dust shield with no issues.

Pulled my custom sub box from last ram and finally installed it in this ram, only took 5 years! Used the pac amp pro sub module and an alpine 600x1 amp, wakes the system up. Maybe ill carpet the box sooner than later

I just installed the SKAR 12's combo with a 1200 watt SKAR amp. With the LC2I tapped into the factory sub wires. Sounds good but my amp is way to much for the subs. Lol I have the gain set to 0 on the amp and still get distortion on some songs.

Is the bottom of that box fiberglass or mdf?
I made mine years ago, built a frame and fiberglassed around it, 1st one for me!
Now i feel like i should bypass the factory alpine on the dash and doors and run them off a 4 channel
