Price point and a solid front axle beneath a 1000lb+ motor. Would have gotten a 6.7 ford if they were in my price range, now i dont think ill ever get away from the cummins

Oh and best ride quality out of the 1500s. I was surprised how My Ram compared to a 07 Silverado LTZ I use to drive. Of course that has a lot to deal with the coil vs leaf springs in the back


And I still own a 07 charger and haven’t had any issues with it’s Hemi so why not add a second to the stable.. until its time for plugs in them both then I’ll say damn it man lol.

i test drove all the trucks in one day, all chevys in all trim levels, same with ford. i went to ram and tested what was a mid level truck and i loved it. it drove good, smooth ride and had creature comforts that other trucks were "out of reach) like stereo volume knob, 115v plug etc

My 2017 Ram 1500 express 4x4, QC, pentastar bought used earlier this year, was purely an impulse buy based on price. I happened to be shopping used trucks for a family member and stumbled upon my truck for $22600+TTL with 12K miles on it. Couldn't pass it up. I never thought I'd be back in a pickup truck again and absolutely love it. I couldn't touch a basically new GM, Ford, etc pickup for that price. Not by a long shot.

The previous generation of Silverado/Sierras (2014-2018) had some pretty bad vibration issues and after dealing with a couple of those with no luck fixing them I decided to test drive the RAM and boy was I surprised. It rode like a Cadillac and had good power with the Hemi. That 8spd automatic was also the nicest shifting transmission that I had ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I took her up to 80+ MPH on the freeway and she was as smooth as an 18y/o girls ass. I was sold and never looked back.

The ride, the interior quality, the look and the value.

Used to have a platinum F150 2015 model and my 2016 laramie had a nicer interior.. that at the time was their top of the line.

The 2018 2500 limited interior is just wow compared to the rest of the competition. I looked at f250 gas platinum and dealer order best price they would do was 64k for the options. I picked up the ram 2500 for 15k less than that with every option the ford had plus interiors arent even in the same ball park.

Ride is leaps and bounds better with the rams and look is subjective but to me the rams look the best.

I have no brand loyalty to FCA or GM or Ford or any of them. I don’t care much about the nameplate itself.

I’m a lifelong car guy and I’ve made many shall we say less than logical purchases. Fell in love with something only to find in the long run that perhaps I should have made another choice.

So I look for value for the money, recent history for reliability, dealer service, and other logical things first. Then I see if I “like” it.

When I went shopping for a $25k truck this past April I expected to buy a used Ford at the end but was open to outcome not predestined. I looked at all of them plus Titan and Tundra. My requirement was factory tow package for my travel trailer, smaller 4d cab and larger bed, and 4x4.

My 2017 Ram Express was by far the best value. All my requirements plus brand new with warranty at below $25k, and 20” wheels. 43% off MSRP really made it an obvious buy vs used.

I’ve added a few things like sidesteps, second glove box, steering wheel radio controls, bedliner and cover. Awesome truck and a super logical choice.

After owner my 2013 sport for a few years, i felt i wanted something different, I told my wife i didn't want another ram. I test drove a Sierra, which i liked a lot, but i didnt want to pay so much to get the All Terrain or Denali package, drove a couple F150s but i wasn't sold on the style, even though the ecoboost and the 5.0L motor were both powerful. I then figured i would try something else that was different so i test drove a red pearl 2017 ram sport with the 8spd (this was the difference , my '13 had the 6spd). Ended up with this one. It was tough not to love it, even though i wanted something different.

I was driving a 2006 f150 lariet with 225k miles. It was time to get a replacement before something dropped out from under it!! The prices of used f150s is stupid and I am not a fan of aluminum bodies and turbo motors(I'm old school).
Spent probably 2 months on autotrader, car gurus etc. Saw a ad for dodge dealer, went to see a blacked out express, mama didnt like it. Too plain...lol searched the ad, saw a 10k mile used 17 big horn for 25,5 so went to check it.
Took it for a test, DONE!!
Comfortable, boatloads of power, just the right amount of bells n whistles.
Old school, IT HAS A HEMI.
Slowly started modding...lol

I started my Mopar life with a 69 Super Bee. My first truck was a 1999 Ram then fell in love with the radical manly look of the 4th Gen Ram and bought a 2012 and am now driving a 2018

Bought my first Ram in 2001- a 98 half-ton. Just despite it having the little 318 in it, it still was a comfortable, sharp-looking truck. Enjoyed the heck outta it. Really didn’t wanna trade it for the 2004 quad-cab Dakota that I bought with the ex-wife shorty after we got married but we needed a more roomier pickup.

Had a Stratus in there too, but after the divorce in 2013, I traded the car for my 2008 Ram I had for 5 years. Loved that one so much that when it came time to, and after I had the opportunity to buy a brand-spankin’ new truck, that’s when i got my 2018 Ram.

Won’t own anything of the other manufacturers. I’ve been a Moparian ever since the turn of the new millennium and don’t expect that to ever change...[emoji41]

Same here. I still think that EcoBoost ****’s a crock. I even lost what little bit of respect I had(which wasn’t much to be honest) for the Raptor when they pulled the 6.2 V8 out for another EcoCrap.

I’m with you guys on the V8 thing. Love mine. Love the sound, power etc.... like I’ve said before on here I think the V8’s are a dying breed for regular folk that use it for recreation and commuting. From what I understand the new Ram is a hybrid of sorts with a Hemi. It has a large battery to help offset the engine. So it has battery assistance. For what I don’t know. The exact thing it does I don’t know. That’s just what I read.

I predict the last truck to hang on to a V8 will be the Toyota and second Nissan. For some reason those guys don’t care about MPG when it comes to trucks. They usually lead the pack in poor MPG which baffles me. Considering the fuel efficient cars and such. Anyways, that’s my two cents.

It’s all in the name of fuel mileage I guess, from the higher-ups at the Phord barn. Too many people wining about the lack of 25+ mpg. At least for the halfton anyways, it is kind of impressive that it can almost pull as good as a V8 and still get better mileage but hey, I’m happy with the 17-18 I average empty in my big ole screamin’ Hemi...lol.
