It sits on the driver side of the truck ('17 ram 2500 5.7) all the way on the back of the engine

Just curious what it's for

I was checking some connections to try and find a very intermittent stumble, hoping to find a loose connection and this one didn't have the red tab pushed in

Someone with a lot more smarts will either confirm or correct, but I think that is the connection point for your auxiliary switches.

You mean the auxiliary switches ?

My truck didn't have those, and I feel like each time I looked for wires for higher trim options, they weren't there

I was going to use one of my switches for my fog lights but went stock with wiring and switches. I remember I had to run from one of those plugs to a fuse in the box, then out to the item I needed to power. Sorry, I can't find my screenshots I took back when, I may have deleted them, but you not having them leads me to believe I am confusing that plug you have with what I have on my truck. Maybe @Mpgrimm2 can help correct me on what that is.

See if this helps at all. It talks about that. The individual plugs are numbered and associated with the auxiliary switches. Again, I'm not 100% sure but it sure looks like it in my truck and I will try to get look at it this weekend.

If the corresponding receiving plug is not in the immediate area, just leave it babe. Many times they use a generic wiring harness so a truck with different options. May have used that plug for night vision for example. Certainly if everything is working OK in your truck leave it be

That's the thing though...it is not
I'm trying to figure out why it cuts out or stalls from time to time
I have find no rhyme or reason for it and i havent been able to duplicate it, that's why I was looking for loose connections
