What size tire can I get away with stock?

Ok so here is my question I have a 2014 ram 1500 blacked express , my stock tires (275/60/20) are about ready to be replaced after 35k. I want to go with a bigger tire possibly the nitto grappler g2 @ 305/55/20, can I do its without a level and on my stock 20's? I want to get a level but I've read about the problem with 2014's and the ball joints piping out , any help is appreciated

2wd or 4wd..???? 2wd, I had 305/50/20's on my 2011 CC that was lowered... rubbed a little on the tie rod end, nothing to worry with, but did rub when it went all the way to the lock...

4wd, I have absolutely no idea...
