This is the screw that broke, would it be okay to leave out?

Oh boy that sucks....

Your best bet would be to get another from either online or the dealer. I would imagine those have specific threads and tensile strength.

Does the new valve body come with new screws?

The new one didn’t come with anything except the solenoid pack and the vb itself.

Yeah, i looked at both sides and it looks like it’s not gonna interfere with anything, and the VB isn’t budging on that side either.

You should be ok. The ONLY concern I would have with leaving that out would be warpage over time....

The new VB install went horribly. The truck is shifting out of 1st so hard it jars your teeth and it won’t shift out of 1st. No check engine lights on so i’m getting suspicious. I’m gonna put the other one in as i need the truck this weekend.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like a solenoid issue or sensor issue. Did you have reverse?

The solenoid pack is the first thing that came to mind, there were a few bent pins that i bent back and installed, and there was a drop of trans fluid on the pins. Last night it made a sound for around 4 seconds as i wasn’t going to let it continue in Park that sounded like the pump was starving for fluid when i put 8 quarts in it.

It didn’t come with a new solenoid which i thought it would’ve as it said it was included. It’s the old solenoid pack.

In park the fluid doesn't run and the pump shouldn't run, only in neutral and the gears does the rfe turn.

So I hate this for you man, if it were me I wouldn't have installed that without new solenoid, I think this should be where you go. Do you at least have a drain pan with a plug? Be careful with that fluid, I'd follow the stream with a gallon container if you have a good clean one. might be messy, but you will have clean fluid to put back.

What was the scratching sound then? The Torque Converter? It didn’t sound like a dry pump as it wasn’t as deep. I didn’t think it was the vb/sp as i don’t know how it can make that sound.
