What to look for on a bad 65RFE valve body

I'm not sure, what do you mean the VB in there was 4wd when your truck is 2wd? Someone other then factory put this in? Did the VB ever work right? I can't be much help man, I think I might be able to come up with some things if you had put a new solenoid on first. If someone is just upgrading VB I say you can put back just VB, but someone with issues like you as I remember just crazy ass stuff going on, I say it needed a new VB/SP as a starting point.

It used a 4WD filter when it’s a 2WD truck is what i meant. It came from the factory this way. I’m gonna look into buying a new SP and see what happens, but that’s gonna have to wait until next week or so as i need to get the screws in as i don’t wanna reuse them. Thank you for your help, hopefully (i’m praying) everything works out well.

I dont know that there is a difference in the filter 4wd versus 2, usually not. I think that info about color solenoid is in that valve body post, I will do you a favor and look it up, might be a while.

You can replace the gray-connector solenoid block with a white-connector solenoid block, as long as you use the right transmission range sensor plate: Type 2 with cars that have manual 1 and manual 2 on the shifter, type 3 if it just has Drive on the shifter.

For some weird ****** reason the price is 220$ more than the white one from the person im going through, i think i’m just gonna bite the bullet and go to o’reillys for the white one and get the new TRS.

I just checked online at my local store (i don’t know if there’s a difference between call/site) but the white connector is 283.99 and the gray one is 418.99. I’m wondering why you’re paying more for TECHNICALLY less.

I’m gonna buy the gray one on Ebay, the guy says he’s a tranny rebuilder so i’m gonna trust him. I’m gonna have it delivered as fast as it can get here on a truck, hopefully the new VB screws will be in too.

I bought it, thank you for the help, and thank you for saving me 60$. I was a few minutes away from driving down to O’reillys to get scammed out of 60$.

So new VB and New SP? Check sump filter, did you pull out o ring? It usually doesnt come out with filter. But if you put back sump filter with o ring on, you would have two orings, big leakage and could cause problems for sure.
