What to look for on a bad 65RFE valve body

Did you replace it with a aftermarket or Mopar sensor?

Aftermarket, the cheaper Dorman sensor from o’verpriced. Which was 50$. I can get a mopar one for around 30$ on amazon

You might want to get the Mopar one. Ive had several bad experiences with Dorman sensors over the years...........

I’ll try to get one from the dealer, but say, do you think that the bad sensor would cause these issues?

Yeah I'm thinking it might be. Looking on Alldatadiy I'm seeing both P0934 & P0935 show the Line Pressure Sensor as one of the more common culprits, besides damaged wires.

I know the the PCM controls line pressure constantly in an RFE trans and if that sensor is bad it's going mess things ALL up...

Here’s a shred of good if there was any.

The time the truck took to shift from Park to Drive is gone, it’s instant now.

The truck pulls HARD in drive now, and it pulls HARD in reverse too. It just goes to 2.1K RPMs, (which is high, it used to shift at 1.9) shifts incredibly hard, and then doesn’t shift past that, but luckily it’s not in Limp home mode which means nothings seriously wrong with it.

P0935 & P0934 are still there; even after reconnecting the line pressure sensor, so that verifies that that is what’s wrong with the truck.

The new LPS in coming in at around 12 tomorrow, so hopefully that’ll clear everything up.

Forgot to mention, now the truck is able to creep in drive at low RPMs, as good as my 2016 & 2019 Chrysler 300 with the 8 speed. It wasn’t able to do this before when it was at super low idle.

(this is with the old solenoid pack, btw)

You sir have more patience then i would of lol GG I have seen you on here with trans issues for a while now. I would of bought a used low mile trans and threw it in and been done with it.

I wanted to do that in the beginning, but i wanted to learn from the issues and see if i can turn this into a plus, which so far i have. It’s annoying yes, but i have enough saved to buy a (few) 65RFEs and built at that. If the LPS doesn’t work or the solenoid pack doesn’t, i’m gonna look into a new trans.

Thanks to @Hemi395 and @Burla for not making me give up on this truck as i’ve felt like i’ve needed to sometimes, but luckily they’re there to help me with this. I appreciate it.

I just may have found my issue.

I looked online for a 65RFE valve body and a 545RFE valve body as my mind was telling me to look and see if there’s a difference, and i think i just found out what’s wrong

I MAY have got the wrong valve body. I don’t know if they’re compatible, but i notice a few things that are different, such as:5d3f45c1dd70f0eac15d08ba459e5150.jpg

My original valve body doesn’t have the two black dots on top of the accumulators that i can only think of as being bleed off valves. Could this be an issue that i need to take up with the eBay seller?

Yeah, he did, and he still shipped the SP. Great seller, the sp is coming in tomorrow. I think the 2 valve bodies are different personally. I still have the old VB to go back to luckily.

Yeah, really cool. I wasn’t expecting that. Anyways, i’m gonna put back in the old VB tonight and pray no more vb screws break. Wish me luck.
