I was going to install bumper guides on a 2017 1500 Laramie Longhorn and I peeked behind the grill. I could see the typical 4 bolts across the top, the outboard pair being coarse threaded for plastic and the inboard pair being fine threaded for metal. But I could see two small (8mm) vertical bolts at the mid-elevation, one on each end of the grill; and I couldn't see what was below that. I hoped it was the typical push-in supports of previous years. It was. The two 8mm bolts just get loosened and the slotted support is released. Below that, it's easy to give the grill a sharp tug to get the next support out, but by then the grill wants to tilt out and the anchors resisted a tug. Not wanting to break anything, I took a bar with a slightly curved end and put it on the anchor point and with an easy motion, popped both anchors one at a time. You could just as easily lay a deep socket across that point as a spacer and use a decent sized screwdriver to pop the anchor out.
