I have a 2015 Ram 1500. I recently put 20x9 fuel coupler rims on with a +1 offset. I used the factory tires which had 10,000 miles on them. I am now gettting a small wobble in the rear going 65 it goes away at 75. Can anyone think of why. The shop that balanced them said they are balanced good but the tire might have high spots. I don't believe them.

Yea so I had this issue once with a vehicle. I had a set of tires on for years with no rotations and alignment that may have been a little off. Of course the tires got wear patterns and such depending on what corner of the car it was on. I decided to get the tires rotated to try to get some more life out of em. I got the vehicle back and that thing was moving and shaking in all sorts of weird ways. It was so bad I actually pulled over to see it the tires had the lug nuts tightened down. I went back telling them that somethings wrong and they said well it's probably from rotating the tires. I thought there was no way that rotating the tires could make the car feel like it was going to get speed wobbles but they moved the tires back and sure enough the wobble went away completely. So yea if you don't rotate your tires regularly and and then you just decide to move them around one day, you could run into your issue. It doesn't take much to cause a wobble at high speed.

If you can afford new tires that would be the best solution. But as mentioned above you may move the tires around. Like maybe switch the fronts and backs and it may solve itself. I think they most likely didn't put the correct tires on the same place they were. So you would kinda be guessing where to put them in order to be in the same position. But there not really anything else it could be assuming they are in fact balanced correctly

Side specific wear causes vibration all the time after "tire rotations." Especially if your alignments just a little off or if you have a leveling kit. Something that causes tires to wear adnomally. To add to this if you don't do regular tire rotations then the abnormal wear will be much more dramatic. Just my opinion though. Go to a tire shop where there seems to be a knlodgable staff and see what they can tell you. But absolutely make sure you identify the problem before you go and buy new tires. Other things that cause vibration are out of balance driveline, rim that is bent or not perfectly circle, tires weighted incorrectly... theses are less likely though in your specific case

I went to a tire shop. They said that I have high spots on my tires? They balanced the wheels out to 0 they said the rim is not bent. And when they switched the tires from the old rim to a new one they marked the tires. To put back on the right side. The truck is a 2015 now with 12,000 miles. I don't have a lift or leveling kit. The only thing I changed was the rim. I went from the 20x8 stock to a 20x9 with a +1 offset. Using the same tires.

Two words... hub rings. Most aftermarket wheels are not hub centric like stock ones are. This leads them to not be 100% centered on the hub which will often lead to this exact wobbling issue you are describing at highway speeds. Get a set of hub rings from Motorsport Tech and I would bet your issue will go away.

How do I find my diameter for the hub rings?

Your hub size is 77.8mm. Typically rings for those will be machined to 78.1mm inside diameter. For the outside diameter of the rings you'll need to look up the specs from your wheel manufacturer. 110mm is fairly common but you'll need to get the exact number.

Could it just be that the stock tires aren't working well with the wider rim? Or are they made to work Fine with a few different rim widths

That's what I thought. I thought new tires were needed.

You get them road force balanced? These trucks are picky with wheel/tire balancing

I noticed when I did a rim swap to a 20X9 mine did the same thing. After a few hundred miles it worked itself out. I still regularly rotate every 5k miles, and after this last rotation I didn't notice the wobble again....and I have 43k miles on my stock tires right now.
