we submit our permit application to build a 2000 sq ft garage today.gambrel roof so i get maximum height and 2 16x10 doors.enough room to add the lift i wanted so i can store my lawn equipment and off road toys in part of 1 bay.total estimated cost is around 525k for the whole project.new metal roofs on every building,new heated driveway and a crap ton of new solar panels.it'll be bigger than the house by 200 sq ft.

Until I can finish my shop, it sleeps next to my V under a shed. Kept it safe from all the hail we’ve been getting.

Right out in front of house normally. Put in garage if bad weather/hail forecasted. One of our few cold mornings this past winter.

finally got my garage done.we blew the buget by almost 500k.heated epoxy floor,hot/cold indoor 2500 psi power washer,sprayfoam insulation,trusscore walls with lots of slatwall,all 15 amp plugs, plus 2 x 30 amp rv plugs with a 50 amp for just in case,3 tesla chargers and lots of redundant wiring and a big boiler for when we decide to heat the driveway.still no lift (yet).i've covered everything i think i'll ever need.we ended up renovating the entire house inside and out.siding ,roof,electrical,new composite deck,sunrooom,the whole 9.

Your original budget was $525,000, which was already $263 a square foot for garage space. Are you saying you spent a million bucks to build a 2000 square foot garage?

just under.we ran out of time to do the heated driveway.we ended up renovating the entire house,floor to ceiling ,front to back.we will never recover the cost if we tried to sell.good thing we aint going anywhere.next plan is to convert my workshop into a games room,it already has a suite upstairs we did a couple years ago.we just have to convince the neighbor to sell us his property.he's 90 and has a nice big workshop.

Heated driver are awesome, you see them in the fancy part of town here

And of course they run the used cooling water from the powerplant underneath the downtown sidewalk
I've been told they melt up to 2 inches of snow per hour
