Ten pages later and I guess i'm still a little confused....

Whose gonna win this ******* contest?

Usually nobody ever wins, sometimes people cannot be convinced of anything if they believe what they want to believe.

Now let's see if your money is on dub , is the entire fuel system compatible with e-10 , will there be temperature swings that cause condensation and water in fuel , is the fuel tank vented , e-10 will suck water right out of the air , hmmmm go for it, why buy reg gas and some stabil and be sure

Oh.. you thought I was engaging in your shenanigans? No - i'll pass thanks. I'll just go back to eating my popcorn. Sorry for interrupting.

Just got me a 2017 1500 HEMI 5.7 with 12,500 miles (I'm new to the Ram Fam and the hype is real! ). Anyway, the previous owner kept the truck in immaculate condition and stated he always filled up with 91 octane. Where we are from 89 octane isn't available... our only fuel options are 87 and 91. I'm reading that 87 is only "acceptable" and I hate settling for less.

Should I continue using 91 or switch to 87?

There's never going to be a satisfactory answer to that.

What I'd do in your shoes, run it almost empty and then fill it up with 87. If it feels sluggish after a few miles driving then you know what 87 costs you. If you don't notice a difference then keep the money in your pocket next time.

Great idea! I did this as well when the truck was new to make my decision. I ran a few tanks back to back of each grade because I felt like it took the ecu to learn/compensate (idk if it does)

Thanks kurek! I'll try that. You just reminded me that the previous owner did mention he noticed a slight performance difference with 87 as he tried it once but I guess I'm just worried about the HEMI not properly timing the burn of 91 and causing long-term damage to the engine (so I've read).
