Ok better yet ... which would you suggest going with if I want a bigger filter .... lol ..maybe that will help me brain a bit better ...

I think you can get bigger 3/4-16 filters if you go digging .I know years ago you could get some massive sized 3/4-16 filters, whether they're still available in a synthetic media i don't know though. I run the Royal Purple 30-8A's on my set-up,and they're a pretty decent sized filter. You also have to remember you're running 2 filters,so you already have twice the filtering capacity.

Mines basically a 1227 now,i started out with the single kit years ago, then upgraded the remote mount to the dual set-up a few years ago,so it's a hodge podge, lol. This was my original set-up,when i went to the dual filter mount,i re-used the engine adapter i already had.

Ok ... I remember seeing a post with a picture of your dual set-up ... so better to upgrade the fittings and hose but that one hose and fittings kit I posted earlier from Evil Energy has everything I need right except for the relo-kit .. ... ok ... makes sense now lol ..sorry for the long list of questions ...

I wanted to do this the last time I changed the oil but was confused about the size of the remove mounts ...

How much more oil does one of those 30-8a filters hold than the 20-820?

You'll also need (4) 1/2" NPT male to 5/8" (-10) male adapter fittings as the Evil kit looks like it only comes with female fittings. It takes just under 8 litres to do an oil change or probably a little over 8 quarts.Pre-filling the filters they'll take probably about 2/3's to 3/4's of a litre to fill, depending on how long you let them soak up oil.I never did compare the oil capacity between the 20-820 filter and the 30-8A filters. You can't really fill the 20-820 as full as you can the veritcal 30-8A,as you'll end up spilling a lot out of the 20-820 when you install it if it's right full.

I am going to be getting a relocation kit, do you recommend the dual or is the single good enough ?

Depends on you. I’m running a single. He’s running a dual. I don’t mind but I’m also running a 8a and may see if I can find a bigger version 3/4-16 filter

So the 20-820 needs which relo kit again? I still got stuck on the description of them as they both show almost the same thing ?

No ... it says it uses the 3/4-16 in. threaded filters ... the 20-820 is 22mm x 1.5 ... right ? So I would need the remote filter bracket to accept 22mm x 1.5?

These single and dual remote Perma-Cool oil filter relocation kits allow you to locate your oil filter where you want it for more convenient oil changes and increased engine oil capacity. The complete kits include everything needed for an easy installation: A spin-on adapter, a remote oil filter bracket, hoses, fittings, mounting hardware, and detailed instructions. They use 3/4-16 in. threaded, Ford-type spin-on oil filters (not included), and come with an assortment of adapters to attach the oil filter bracket to almost any engine.

I saw a picture of someone with the 20-820 filters with a relo kit ... don't remember who had it
Not seeing where you see 3/4-16 on that at all? I did at one point. The pictures were more than likely mine... The first link I posted was the kit I used with the 20-820.

That's really a tough call to make,as i'm not sure how you use your truck . I did notice my pressures have came up slightly with the dual set-up and my oil temps also dropped a bit. The down side is you're buying 2 filters per change and roughly another quart of oil. The single set-up is a little easier to find room to mount to the frame. If you have access to a die grinder,it's worth spending a few minutes cleaning up some of the casting flash and smooth out any sharp corners you can get at on either set-up. It looks like the dual set-up that uses the stock 22mm X 1.5 filters might be out of stock . I went with the older style 3/4-16 thread filters as they can be easier to find in the middle of nowhere, and i think might still have some big filters available, but honestly i haven't went looking to see though,as the Royal Purple 30-8A filters are a pretty good size, and make my ass pucker to buy up here as it is,lol
