We Just found out we are expecting our 3rd. Naturally the first thing I think of is fitting everyone in the vehicles lol. Who has 3 car seats? How does it fit? What brands do you have? I’ve got a 4 year old in a high back booster, and my 1.5 year old rear facing in a convertible(will be old enough to forward face by the time baby comes), and obviously in the market for a new infant seat. I’m not too worried about fitting in the Ram, but the journey is gonna be a little more of a Challenge.
TIA

And this is how I ended up in a Mega cab....

Congratulations ...and good luck Lol. You are going to have your hands full! Mine are out of the seats now (thank goodness) but pretty sure I had the youngest with the rear facing seat in the middle and booster and high backs on the side. If you put the rear facing on the side it's hard to get to the one in the middle.

I had 3 Britax (big *** ones) in the back of my crewcab, now finally down to just 2 booster seats!

Before that, had a Britax and 2 Keyfits.

Kids are now 10 & 7 (twins).

I have 3 in back of mine for the grand kids. Currently 2 high back boosters and 1 forward face infant seat. Did about 6 months with 1 high back booster, 1 forward facing and 1 rear facing infant seat. No problems. You are right the Journey will be a problem. Their parents have 1 booster and the infant seat in middle row and second booster seat in back row. It was really tight and almost impossible to get all 3 seats in middle row when they hey had 2 infant seats.

Thanks for the responses. Doesn’t seem to be a problem in the Ram like I said. In the journey I don’t think I’m going to fit 3 across so I’m probably gonna have to put my oldest in the third row.

Congrats! I've been down that road before. Luckily out of my 4 kids, only one is still in booster. As long as you have the crew cab, you'll be good to go. Like said, it's a test fit situation when you need 3-across. Some of the big rear facing ones can take up a ton of room.

Whew, i sure glad that my kids were born before the safety nazis got so bad.
Five kids, two adults in an old crew cab Ford. We did have infant carriers, and booster seats at times.
I can recall a lot of trips in that truck with the kids and many a night hauling a trailer to the races,
that ol truck would be loaded the cab stuffed full of kids and clothes.
That was back when seat belt laws where just coming in, I recall getting pulled over once by TX. DPS officer and being told I was getting pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, it got kind of pissy when I congratulated him for having x-ray vision as that truck didn't have a shoulder belt just a lap belt.

i have two right now (knock on wood clicking this thread doesnt change that) in my crew cab. so much more room than the quad i got rid of. three would be pushing the limits for me. i know they would fit but wouldnt leave much room. it already sucks not being able to access the space under the seats with car seats. i would have to move to the mega cab with 3.

Not even the Great megacab is gonna handle 4 kids (!!) comfortably. Which is why I’m in the market for a Durango possibly now, or a Honda Pilot. Wife is against minivans like they’re exclusively for democrats (apologies to anyone who might be democrat)

Lol I hear you. I upgraded from my old quadcab to the crew a month after the second kid came along. The truck I’ll work just fine, I do hate that I can’t get to the storage under the seats though. We do have more room in it than the journey. I’d like to get something bigger eventually. I just paid off the journey so I don’t really wanna jump into another car payment just yet. We’d rather cram in it when we have to. I love the Durango’s but if I’m gonna get something bigger it’s go big or go home, I’ll go suburban, Expedition, or Sequoia.

True on the under seat storage. Kind of silly, but I hate having to yank the simple booster seat out every time I have to get under the quad cab rear seat on my Ram. Like I say, I'm glad only my 4th kiddo is only still in some type of seat. With a family of 6, the other vehicle pretty much has to be a minivan if you want to go anywhere with 6 and luggage. We've been through most make/model MVs over the years. You gun toting Trump supporters can go eff yourselves. I'm kidding!! Just another "political correctness" joke.

Yeah thats where im at. I love the crew size for where im at. But just 2 makes my wifes crv too small. I like having space. While its not the most convenient driving around a big vehicle, having the space is nice. Im all about the tahoe/yukon. Not sure on going up to the suburban and yukon xl. Although, i parked beside a suburban the other day and they do not seam all that much bigger than the tahoe. Maybe a foot longer? Whats the difference at that point.

Minivans are cheaper, or at least used to be. My in-laws have 4 kids and they’ve always had minivans and still do. Always had grand caravans and they are really hard on cars. I was amazed that the 05 they had got up to 300k on original engine/transmission. But for me I cannot do it. No minivan for us. Nowadays they are just as much as an suv with a 3rd row.

The problem you run into in a journey, Durango, Tahoe - if you use the third row there goes all your cargo space. Not gonna work for the Costco trips to feed a family of 5 lol.

exactly, no minivans. Our sitter has a GC and always jokes with me about buying it, telling me the features it has. My daughter does like watching movies in it. But no way. Im not interested in any more fwd or even awd cars/suvs.
