I am thinking about doing the LED bar on my bottom bumper soon, and wondering what people were using as far as wireless switches go. I dont plan on keeping this truck for more then a couple years so I do not want to drill into the dash or anything like that.

I was thinking about a wireless remote type switch and figured I would see what people like.

I ordered a light bar from ebay that illuminates amber or white and it came with a remote but I haven't hooked it up yet. I also didn't want to drill into my dash

You don't "have" to drill into your dash. Buy a switch that has wires running out of it that mounts via 3M tape. My wiring kit actually came with it, and I'm throwing it away lol.

I know it's not the question being asked.. But seems like a solution to the reason you're asking.

You don't have to drill into squat. Just run through fire wall and zip tie somewhere under you steering wheel. Like where people mount trailer brake controllers. Done.

Mine are press-fit into one of the otherwise useless dash cubbyholes. Only hole drilled is way in the back top of the cubby that nobody will ever see.

Thought about all those too. I have done wiring before and another reason I am thinking remote is so I dont have to run all the wires through the truck. But, I shall see I guess. Need to decide if the light bar is what I want to do first. I am going back and forth between that and a level. I think the bar will get more use.

superbrightleds.com has a wiring harness that has a built in wireless controller in it. That's how I did my lights.

Looks like a nice install. Only issue I think I would have is that these switches are on the passenger side of the truck. Any issue with that so far? I know AB with his short arms might have issues.

no issues really, they're accessible enough.

In reality they probably work out better over there as they don't quite dim at the same rate as the rest of the dash lkights, and the upper (ON) indicators don't dim at all.

And If AB has trouble, there are other solutions:

Easiest by far is the clutch pedal delete plate. Unbolt it, drill the hole and reinstall.

I have the same harness a mounted the switch in the cubby in front of the shifter. I do want to get another switch and mount to the side of the console on that little part that pops off.

perfect install. definitely doing this

I wish all cars had this. Makes it so easy to run wires in the cab.
