I just put 2014 sport seats in my 15 2500 tradesman. The sport seats are heated and have the module. Is there a way to wire the seats to work without going through the can-bus system? I am looking into getting the body harness, but I am guessing it will be a bit pricy, and I'm not sure it will work when I'm done. I installed the console as well and I don't mind mounting one of the round aftermarket switches in it. I did tap into the keyed lighter plug in the rear of the console for the power seat with no issues. I know the seats will pull a bit more power. Has anyone made them work this way?

I installed the Laramie seats in my Express. I am planing on doing the same thing but I haven't had time to wire them up yet. I already figured out the wiring for the ventilation and seat heaters. I am going to try an aftermarket seat heater kit and wire it into the factory heaters and see if it works ok. I want to keep the factory heaters because they are perforated for the ventilated seats. I have a few kits I am looking at trying to figure out which one will work best. I also want the sear heater switches to be illuminated so they are easy to see at night.

Do you have a diagram you can post? Are you running through the seat module?

No I think I am going to try to completely bypass the factory module. We don't have any of the wiring in our trucks to support it. I am going to try to splice a aftermarket seat heater kit into my factory seat heaters. I dont have the diagram in front of me but when I reupholstered my seats I wrote down the color of the wires going to the seat heaters. I will look for my notes and post them for you. I was pretty pumped up to do it when I first installed the seats but I have been swamped at work and honestly it does not get that cold here anyway. Now you got me thinking about it again. I believe you said your seats were not ventilated. If that is the case in your situation I would just take your seat covers off and remove the factory seat heaters and install an aftermarket seat heater kit and then put them back on they are not hard to remove you just need hog ring pliers and some hog rings. I am only trying to retain my factory seat heaters because of the ventilation.
