I'm gonna post this because I'm at work and in a bit of a hurry. I'll take the time to read through other posts later at home for similar subjects.
I have a 2009 RAM 1500 (5.7 HEMI) Sport. Love the truck but I'm having climate control issues. About two months ago, while towing the boat to the lake, I noticed that the A/C wasn't working. Coming back from the lake it was working again. Refrigerant pressure is good, no messages on the display....figured it was just a hick-up in my pick-up. It happened again a couple days later so I decided to take it to the dealer (CARMAX) because I have the "MAXCARE" coverage. They ran diag on it and ordered a new control head and two by-pass actuators. A month and a half later the parts came in and I brought the truck in for the repairs. The A/C had completely quit by now and I had been driving around for the whole time with "5X55" cooling (Hottest months of the year).
A week later and I have the truck back but the problem still persists. CARMAX took it to a local Denver Dodge dealer for their expert assistance and to load software and the dealer says it's fixed. When the Service manager starts it up back at CARMAX it is inop again. I needed the truck back for a couple days so I picked it up and it appeared to be working. When I stop at the store on the way home and start it up again....it isn't working. This morning on my way to work....it's working again.
Does ANYONE have sage, expert advice on what could be going on? Is there a "TIER 3" Helpdesk at RAM?

Thanks!
Daryl

Similar but mine will blow (sometimes) out of the dash vents for about a second after start-up and then it fades out and hot air comes out around my feet. Other times it just blows hot air around my feet right from the start and yet other times it seems to work fine until I turn the vehicle off. After that it's a crap shoot whether it will work again at start-up.

Thanks For your input!

You can try re-calibrating it, the dealership should have done it, but I've seen them miss worse things. No guarantees, but it's free to try.

HVAC Manual Recalibration below

With the vehicle running set the HVAC blower to low

-Press and hold the recirculation button on the HVAC Control Head for 10 seconds and release.

-Now press and hold the recirculation button on the HVAC Control Head again until the recirculation LED begins to flash, then release.

-The system will perform a brief recalibration and reset faults

I think that's the way it's supposed to work because that what mine does every time I start it.

I did this and I noticed that it cycled through various modes as the actuators recalibrated....then it went right back to not working. I think the problem is software because it works about 20% of the time....which to me means that the mechanicals work when they are controlled correctly. Anyway, it's at a different Denver Dodge dealer today. Wish me luck!

Update: We're still awaiting a new control head so I picked my truck up from the Dealer in the meantime. The A/C was still intermittent but working as I left the shop. I decided to take her to get washed and noticed that the right rear turn signal was out (message on the dash telling me that too) replaced the bulb but the message didn't clear and the turn signals on that side were still flashing fast.....weird. Turned the truck off and on a couple time and finally the message cleared and the lights started acting normally. That was over a week ago and since then the A/C has been working properly. Instead of a mechanic I wonder if I should seek the services of a Shaman to exorcise the demons. Anyway....I'm still going to have them replace the control head and load new software. I've also had the right headlight go out on me only to be working again when I go to replace the bulb. This truck is trying real hard to make me not trust her or to get me a *****'n ticket.
