I had nerf steps on my '06, my '11 came with them too although they are bent, broken and rusting(crappy quality cheapos). I'm looking to replace mine with diamond tread running boards. I don't know why but I kind of want that mid-90's wheel to wheel running board look to come back :happy107: Actually I want them mostly to keep the rocks off the truck. Shortly after I bought it I spent $1400 repairing paint and $400 on fender flares and mud flaps. I'm still getting rocks that hit the bottom of the cab right about the start of the rear door. Cab corners are going to take a beating from hitting the nerf bars and deflecting up if I don't do something soon.

I've got a fun-sized wife too at 5'0" :naughty:

Lol it's funny as I never cared for to me " short" women. Then 30 years later she still hasn't gotten any taller lol.

I think you should keep them... Sure the look is better without them but like others have said, they sure come in handy. I think the handy factory definitely outweighs the look factor.

I'm short and stumpy so I'll keep my steps until I can afford AMP steps. I could go without but it's too much work and I'd like to keep my leather seats looking good lol

I actually like them and had the dealer add wheel to wheel steps as part of the purchase. Also, my wife is disabled and the step helps her get in and out much easier.

Yes part of my pkg deal were wheels and the side steps. My daughters were a lot younger and I wanted them to have tha ability to enter/exit easily. :)

I'd leave them on. I think it looks just fine. Plus look at all the benefits....saves you from door dings, saves your seat sides from wearing out, and prevent rocks and such from running up the sides of your truck, and they help your wife get in and out. Enough said[emoji6]

They definitely have their benefits, like saving the seats! But I just can't stand the look on them on a stock sized truck! I don't have any on my 12.

I admit, I voted "no", but that's purely from a looks stand point...
You have to choose form or function, in this case they are mutually exclusive.
Great looking truck, either way!

I don't use the steps when I enter and exit the truck so I find it a bit more annoying to get into the truck when they are are on.
But I hear way less stuff hit the side as I drive and the shorter folks seem to appreciate them.

I am the same but I do use them when getting out of the vehicle. This helps reduce the wear on the seats. If you slide out without steps there is a lot more pressure and friction on the seat. Particularly with the leather, this is a bad wear point.

I personally prefer no steps but they have their uses. Obviously women/girls need them but also our older friends. Reduces wear on the seat. Protects truck from door dings, too. Only caveat is I've heard some can really rust out or rust out at the connection points. So it's important to keep them clean and check them out once in awhile or somebody could get injured if they give out while entering.

I couldn't get in my truck without them and I'm 6'1". Power Amp step is the answer if you don't like the look but lots of moola's. I have the Amp bed step and love it, couldn't get in the box without it. Mobility restricted we'll say.
