Hemi has been problem free for me so far. A bit of rust under the door which fca covered. I like the power and the sound.

Even with all it's problems, I would say yes because its the simplest of the modern V8s. Years ago I would have said the GM LS motors were much better but the modern ones have a new AFM and that's 10x more complicated than MDS.

Plus my Hemi has pulled my camper and family from MA to UT and back and MA to FL and back with no problems. I've had 0 issues in the 7 years I've owned the truck. Except for being ridiculously finicky with what oil it likes, it's been a good motor for 65k.

However, if I could find a low mileage 12V Cummins truck I would sell the Hemi and be all over that ....

yeah but it aint up to you, lol.

I don't know why I'm laughing, I'm in same boat. I would like two vehicles, a 94-96 bronco and a 12v cummins, and sell the truck. But I'd have to trade in the wife to get it done, and I am fond of the girl.

I know what you mean, you get used to having them around. I got a 2019 Rav 4 limited for my wife. I think it was a good trade...

I bought my wife a rav 4 as well, paid in full for taking care of my mother when she was ill. I said choose whatever car you want, and she was leaning towards a honda crv, then we drove the toyota, lights out great SUV. That was 2009, and my hopes it lasts us another ten years. She commutes daily, just a great vehicle.

This is my 3rd Ram and 1st Hemi. I have always wanted a Hemi and finally bought it. I couldnt be happier, all the power in the world and I get almost 22 mpg. I cant say enough good things about the Ram and the Hemi.

No I would not. Have had a 5.9 and a 6.7 Cummins and make a BIG mistake getting a 6.4 Hemi. Nice truck but didn’t do my homework. If you want power go diesel.

2016 2500 5.7 Hemi with 88K miles. My first Hemi and won’t be my last. 0 issues with the engine. Just keep on with my 5,000 mile oil change interval and racking up the miles. Hoping to keep it till 200K miles and then trade it in on the TRX!

I had a '03 2500. First year they put the hemi in. Damn thing broke a valve spring right after 100,000 miles and bent the valve. They managed to get it running with the bent valve and I managed to drive it to a Chevy dealer and get it traded in immediately after that.
No more hemi's for me after that.

Yes exceeded my expectations. I was die hard diesel before this but you can get good deals all day on Hemi Ram 1500s with all the options vs trying to get into an Eco diesel or more expensive CTD. The eco diesel is a slug compared to the Hemi and I don't tow enough or heavy to justify CTD

Diesel is nice after modification but you pay more upfront and then you have to do serious modifications and coin to make it reliable with the emissions. The Hemi is easy to make reliable and tune compared to a diesel. Good oil, catch can, tune, possibly headers and you are done.

Great V8 with a phenomenal transmission. Pulls good and is a hot rod wrapped in a luxury truck.

I like the power and economy of my 09 5.7L Hemi. I didn't like having to replace the cam and lifters at 114k miles. I did the work myself for about $1300. It seems they have no plans to correct the issue, so I wont buy another one.
