I emailed ATI and got a great response:

To offer a regular PN we need to have enough interest in the first batch of them. Would happen to have enough other customers out there to do a group order and get the ball rolling? Looks like we would be somewhere between 10-15% underdrive and we would need to be able to run 10 of them and for that order the selling price would be around $350. It would take around 8-12 weeks to get that project done. Let me know

Who is in for $350? let's get this order going!

I'm interested, but leery. Any negative effects of running one on a daily driver? I don't have many things on my truck. CAI and a Trinity tuner. My truck is at the dealer right now, After i get it back, I may say add me to the list. Just depends. I'm definitely interested to know more. Any guys running other brands, like summit, want to chime in? How Noticeable is it?

I'm in for sure Ethan. More people need to get in on this, I've been wanting one for two years.

I read these are only really beneficial if you have a cam and are pushing big HP numbers. Could someone explain more please?

An underdrive pulley is a great supporting mod that will help free up about 8-12hp. You don't need a big cam to take advantage of the gains either. ATI is the best manufacturer available on these as it is a true harmonic balancer as well. This will be a nice supporting mod for the guys that are looking for that extra 10hp or that extra .1 off their ET in the 1/4 mile.

what about any possible detriment to the alternator or a/c compressor? Is this definitely an after warranty item?

that would be my concern also with a mod like this, on a DD. would this particular UDP be physically smaller in size, or simply lighter then the OEM pulley ?

Don't expect a huge difference. You'll notice your AC doesn't blow as cold when at idle and your alternator doesn't spin as fast so you can see some light dimming as well.

I have one on my G8 and it's not all that. I think on a stock G8 the dyno showed 5BHP, but the 1/4 mile actually showed a bit more.

A different pulley can also mean you need a different belt.

There's some gains to be add. $350 worth???> That's up too you.

There real popular in the LSx world.
The smaller crank pulley will slow all your accessories down. You need a overdrive pulley on the alternator to speed it back up. I read people saying the A/C wont blow ass hard too

10% underdrive isn't enough, in my opinion.

15-20% would be about right.

I've had them on a few of my cars, all at 20% - Dakota, Neon, and Sundance. I was happy with them all, and most happiest with the on on my Neon (since the waterpump was driven off the timing belt). Got a nice bump in power, and a 1-2 mpg gain.

The one on my sundance causes the car to get a little warm at idle, but no change to the temp in my dakota.

I'd be interested - at 15-20%, and on the 2nd group buy.

Soooo nobody is in for this except TylerB? Including he and myself, we have four people total that are in....we need 6 more people on board. I've had them before and noticed no difference in the alt, or A/C. Like Matt said, it's a great supporting mod.

There won't be a 2nd group buy if there isn't a 1st....

Too bad there's no truck length OD pulley, I always want to spin the supercharger faster.

Sorry, it sounds great and all, but I think I have other mod ideas for that $350.

Well, confirm the % under-drive, and I'll give it another consideration. But at 10-15, I'm out. At 15-20, I'll reconsider at the 1st group buy.
