15 but i've had it in my 18 Hellcat Challenger and an 18 3500 with no issues.
I think it's something with my truck. I'm going to check it in an older truck next week. It works in my 18 Durango, so I know it works

Not sure why that one didn’t work. Current one in my truck is a Durango radio and works 100%

The 7” radio from the Durango works perfectly in your Ram? Could you show a picture of it fully installed?

you mean the 8.4" radio? Its the same radio as a ram one. you just have to trim the mount on it to fit.

Yes the 8.4. Sorry. How did you modify the mount to let it fit and operate?

You cut the two top ears off the mount with a dremel then it fits right into place like a Ram 8.4"

Thank you for the information. Where did you get the radio from? I’m looking for one.

I really like that. Is the one you made matte? Also, do both USB ports fully function with the unit?

The one in the picture has a glossy finish. and yes both USB ports work.

Hopefully the cost of the 8.4 RA4 will go down if these get popular

So for anyone who wants to run the Fullsize Hub and not the Compass one, here is what the adapter I whipped up looks like. Surface finish can be either matte or glossy.

That looks like it would work pretty well. I've been looking for a solution like that.
Did you have the 12v receptacle in your console prior to switching out the hub? I'm considering rerouting that 12v to the lower outside area by the rear HVAC vents

I did have the 12v, to use the adapter, you remove the old hub, then cut across to the far edge of the 12v plug and the adapter clips in.

That's great, I was planning to convert that 12v into USB power anyway.
Let me know if you are interested/available in selling me one of your adapters!

Forgive my ignorance here...Right now I have the Compass hub with only 1 USB port. Can I get the full-size hub and get 2 usb ports to work?

Plug and play or will I need to wire anything else????

I'm really considering this upgrade but I'm worried about functionality loss. I have a 2017 ram 1500 sport night edition with the ra4 8.4 now.

Will i not have the back up camera icon? Will I have issues with the ac/heated seats on the uaq? Any other issues i might come up with when switching?

Also what are the parts numbers for the usb hub, console tray to fit the new hub correctly to make it look like it belongs. I plan on purchasing lifetime warranty through Mopar for my truck so don't want issues down the road. I hate the navigation on my current ra4, and would like Google maps as my main nav option which is why I'm considering this.
I installed the UAQ in my 14 Ram and there are some small glitches.

The first issue I had is my SD card will not play even though the SD card option is in my BCM.. it has not worked in any of the four radios I have tested. I actually purchased the correct SD card hub and it still won't work. The SD card option shows up on the radio screen but it can't detect when the SD card is inserted. I have had others say they got the SD card to work so this might just be my truck that doesn't. I realize a lot of people don't even use the SD card but I wanted to mention it. I personally use it all the time and that's how I listen to most of my music.

If your truck is a 13 or 14 you'll have to purchase a special module from infotainment to get your heated seats steering wheel excetera to show up on the radio screen and function normally. It's $170 so hopefully someone will come up with a cheaper option in the future. Your heated seats wheel Etc will still work without the module but you cannot control them from the radio and they will not show up on the screen..

In my truck and STecoD"s truck the backup camera on the 4 UAS and UAQ radios we tested is much darker than the RA4 especially at night

I also noticed that on XM Radio about three-quarters of the channels will not show up on my premium cluster it just goes blank or stays on the channel I previously had. I have verified this with other people and there's is doing the same thing. Not a big deal for some people but thought I would mention it.

Another problem I experienced is that while navigating with the radio in many cases the turn by turn in the cluster does not show the correct information. The street name will not be present but have a couple of small lines that look like backward L's and in some cases the whole street or next turn doesn't show up. Again not a big deal for some people but thought I would mention it.

All the settings showed up in my menus except the one for Auto on comfort on and off. this is not a big deal to me because I leave it on all the time anyway but I wanted to mention that that's what it did in my truck and STecoD's truck.

The voice texting on the UAQ will not work like the RA4 did for Android phone guys unless you are hooked up to Android auto or Apple carplay. Of course the iPhone guys could never use it anyway so it's not a big deal for them but I actually enjoyed the voice texting on my RA4 and it worked very well. The UAQ radio is capable of it of course but for some reason it doesn't work when we install them in our trucks most likely because we don't have the correct subscription or BCM codes.

If you install the UAQ radio in your truck the Travel Link and Real-Time Traffic features will not work unless your truck originally came with that function because the code will not be set in your BCM. The Real-Time Traffic and Travel Link worked on the RA4 no matter what vehicle it was installed in as long as you had the subscription from XM. I activated the code with my tool and it worked perfectly but a lot of guys don't have this capability.

I'm actually kind of on the fence on whether or not I'm going to use the UAQ or keep my RA4. The Apple carplay and Android auto are both really cool and I think the guys with iPhones have more to gain than the guys with Android phones. The Google Maps and Waze maps for andriod auto are nice but in the rare case I might need to use Google or Waze I could just use my phone other than that I would just use the radios navigation feature. I just updated the maps in my RA4 so they are just as current as the new UAQ. One other the thing I might mention is for some reason the screen themes on the UAQ for the ram are very limited. I have seen the screen themes they have for other vehicles and they're very nice but the RAM just has five basic screens that are two red two yellow and one blue. None of them have the logos and the little nuances that the screen themes on the RA4 have. In my opinion the 7 screen themes on the RA4 actually look better in the truck but that's all a matter of personal preference. I'm just trying to get as much information as I can for guys considering the upgrade. Besides the obvious differences which is the Android auto and Apple carplay the main differences with the UAQ radio is you can scroll through the screens which is really cool They are lightning fast when you start your truck up they come on instantly and they react much quicker to inputs. You'll get album art on AM /FM stations. The screen is much crisper and there are a lot more features in navigation for points of interest Etc. I will also mention that I like the 3D features on the RA4 better than the UAQ. The buildings have much more detail in the RA4 unit which surprised me.

I know why the cluster stuff isnt working. I investigated this after you told me originally, the way the UAQ is sending the data to the cluster in some cases are longer then the 13-17 clusters understand and if it gets a bad line, it'll just go blank. Same thing with the turn by turn, its due to the cluster not having the turn by turn data files in the cluster it needs.
