If you’re getting the “Failed: Service not supported in Active Diagnostic Session”. Disconnect and back all the way out of Alfa. Force close the program and restart.

Also, remember that some of these settings can take some time to take affect and may require a longer sleep cycle.

I think you are correct in completely backing out, including forcing AlfaOBD to close. I went back out this morning and the HVAC showed the dual zone configuration on the HVAC screen but it didn’t work. I tried again to set the dual zone ATC from AlfaOBD and it took. As of now the system is working in auto mode but it showes dual zone. I am giving it a break and reboot the laptop then I wil try to change from dual zone to single zone.

Good, hopefully it’ll stick. I had to reset pretty much most of my changes yesterday with the ATC being one of them. I set DZ ATC, waited about 10 minutes then set SZ ATC. While it somewhat worked after the next sleep cycle it was fully functional after the next start up. Good luck!

So a Durango mirror will fit our rams?

Any idea if any other model will work too? Wasn't sure if any others have compatible mountings

I think he put the Durango mirror in his wife's Durango if I understood his prior post correctly.

Correct, RAM mirror went in Ram, Durango/Grand Cherokee mirror went in Durango. The main thing I was really noting was that the AlfaOBD settings were 100% the same as the Ram to get it working.

Yep, sorry about that I was on mobile so it was harder to see you were adding it to the Durango too.

It does open a question, though - are there any other vehicles that have a rear view that will fit the RAM? It seems a lot easier to find cheap smartbeam rear views for non-RAM vehicles.

Need a little help as I'm not to technically advanced. I have a 2018 and installed the bypass, OBD MX and AlfaOBD full app (everything connects just fine). Played around with it and started to learn how it works.
I wanted to start with the DRL setting, so I went to configure and clicked first on left hedlight, selected yes and then the same for right. Screen says it's activated but the lights don't go on. Cycled it a few times and let it sleep overnight. I'm sure it's me but can someone give me so input as to my error?

Thanks,
I'm not sure what sensors that would be. I have automatic headlamps that go on when it's dark like at night or when I pull in the garage. I have a sensor on the top center of the dash that activates the automatic headlamp function.

You are most definitely correct about backing all the way our and killing AlfaOBD. It works fine every time I do it that way.

I set up the DZ ATC and then the SZ ATC. It appeared to work. I went back to the truck 30 minutes later and the auto function was working BUT the 8.4 display was showing SZ MTZ again. I decided to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. After hooking the battery back up it looks like it is supposed to now - SZ ATC and it works.

Next I tried to set the fog light dropout so that I keep fogs on with high beam. That appears to work as well.

I then set up DRL using high beam on my quad headlights. It is not working yet but I am giving it some time to see if it takes. I set the following:

DLR Configuration - Optional DRL
Lamp Location - High Beam
Dropout Enabled - Yes
DRL Customer Setting Enable/Disable - Yes
Daytime Running Lights CSM - Yes

Make sure your in "Car Configuration Change" it's all the very bottom. Sounds like your in the section that allows you to turn on to test different functions. c5994630f727e828e679f48bcbda4b7d.jpg

One is for features of the instrument cluster, but what features? And if I enable/ disable the setting what happens?

The other is for splash screen type. Currently set at “no” but there lists all different types.

Yes, I have the temp sensor installed in the driver kick plate below wheel and the humidity sensor near rear view mirror on windshield. My 16' Express of course came with none of this. However, thanks to the amazing help of Mpgrimm2, DeereGuy, Ricks Ram and STecoD I now have everything functioning 100%!

If you run into a problem with the settings not seeming to stick in the 8.4 again, you can perform a reboot of the radio by pushing/holding the volume and channel select for a few moments until the screen goes black. It will performed a reboot and the settings will more than likely be there. This of course is after a sleep cycle so the BCM has sufficient time to make changes.

Some have experienced issues (usually 14's) when setting high beams for DRLs. While I can get mine to work, I experience an odd hum which I have not been able to source yet. I leave mine on signals as it looks great with projectors.

I wonder if the IPC Config one is for the EVIC based config menus that you get when you have the RA1 Radio and therefore don't have the settings menu on the radio?

Thank you all for your help. I was always in the configuration mode but here's what I think I found out. I knew the truck had to be in gear but always had my lights set to automatic mode. When I turned the headlight switch to off the DRL's came on, maybe when the automatic sensor turns off the headlamps in daylight is also over rides the DRL's. I'll keep playing with it till I get just the DRL light on that I want.

BTW, John Jensen's instruction list was very helpful. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Your DRL's should come on when your switch is on Auto. Your truck needs to be in drive with the parking brake off in order for them to work. If they are not working on auto with your truck in gear and parking brake off there is a setting missing or on the wrong configuration.

After yesterday's fiasco, I had quite a few settings changed that did not revert back after changing the splash, vehicle brand and vehicle line. Just finished up 12 more. Most were outside temp display, window express, chassis type, liftgate/trunk type and so on but one I found that changed I actually like and figured I'd post up as others may as well.

First, I had noticed when unlocking the truck only the tailgate would unlock then the other doors on the next press. When comparing the configs before yesterday, I noticed "Secondary Lock Present" was selected. After reverting the setting back, all was working as before. I'll be putting this one back as I use the bed of my truck daily for work and I am constantly going in and out for tools or to load something.

I'll know better tonight when it's not so bright out. I'm the only one home so I have no one to looks to see what's on and it's just to bright in this Arizona sun to even pull up to the closed garage door to see. I tried putting the truck in neutral and applying the e brake but the gear selector just switches to park when I open the door and all the DRL's shut off.

Also noticed a code which I am beginning to believe is the source of the "service electronic brake system". Still haven't found it even after comparing my configs. Might look into another Express to see if I see anything there.

I believe this is my last issue I need to correct. If I can't find it I guess it is no big deal as I still have a recall in which they are sure to flash my BCM anyway. Still though would be nice in case anyone else encounters the same.
